Silent Hill

Its bizarre to me how many of these arent well documented. Like which ones are random, which ones are director's cut/greatest hits changes and which ones just have wonky triggers. Like the apartment ghost whispers in SH2 I think theyre guaranteed in DC/GH but random (or maybe buggy) in the original. But it seems all sources say its DC only.
Just play the greatest hits ps2 versions. First four were built for (ps1) and mostly ps2.

100% proof Team Silent cursed the franchise after SH4:

For context: the blue halo of the sun is basically the anti-halo and "a curse on god" according to a book in the order chapel in SH3, that drove away whatever dark goddess that made the series decent at all. This was unused and blue halos are only ever mentioned, but not shown officially in the series.

I feel like the blue halo was cut similar to the Ghosts backstories (files) you could only find on the old website for time constraints, or it was originally a plot tool much like the apparent objects the ghosts would drop. SH4 has extremely interesting lore and story despite how annoying the game itself is. I like its additions to the cult.

Okay so looking at this I believe maybe Walter would have committed the blasphemy which would make a lot more sense because Walter wanted to obtain God powers to see his mother iirc which might be pretty blasphemous, to usurp their God or maybe it would be used against Walter via Joseph but I think Walter makes more sense. Oh man I'd love a new entry where you actually play as a psychic or a villain that's part of the cult and have it similar to SIREN where you play as different people.

You said they were all made for PS1, but only the first one was, the other 3 games weren't backwards compatible.
I didn't. Regardless I can't edit it now and I was tired, who gives a fuck anyone in this thread knows what I meant. Also, technically 2, 3 and 4 are backwards compatible via shitty original PS3. Kind of wish Xbox made more use of it.

Lol that's not what backwards compatible means.

You can play them natively on a PS3 phat model, the original November 2006 release, additionally you can play PS1 games on them too (all models, only PS2 was removed but had 80% of the catalogue). The major issue, what makes them shitty, is how hot they get and also how they are ticking time bombs. Not to mention the prices too.

Definition: (of computer hardware or software) able to be used with an older piece of hardware or software without special adaptation or modification.

You are fucking retarded and I will no longer reply to you.

The hopes for a good silent hill 2 went to the crap when the devs are begging people to play their butchered version this is so pathetic that they have to go that way for pity sales
The hopes for a good sh2 already were successful on the PS2. No one asked for a remake and the only ones who did meant the first game. Fuck this franchise after 4. It's just like Halo and other game series that ended when their original talent left. 1000055126.jpg

One hope (cope) I have for the SH2 demake is Akira Yamaoka redoing the themes with their ENTIRE versions.
Below is a full 6 minute fan cut of Theme Of Laura, using audio from one of the E3 trailers, the song feels so incomplete now without it.
Extended part begins at 2:55 and lasts till about 4:09. Outro at 5:14.

I wish we'd just get a port, maybe gog will pick up the 2-4 ports and make em run on modern pcs out of the box. They did it for MGS1/2

Edit: just checked they do have SH4 but not 2 or 3 for whatever reason. Also I already bought it so I knew this at some point but forgot.

The apartment was genuinely interesting. Most other things about the game are bullshit to ass in quality due to retreading to pad out the game length, but the apartment has some great eerie vibes in it.
The apartment is honestly genius. The swap to a first person view and the absolute dead silence where all you hear is Henry's footsteps is brilliant. You're always uncomfortable there waiting for something to happen that never does eventually giving you some false sense of security... until you reach the second half of the game and the hauntings start showing up.

This place being your "safe" haven that you constantly return to just to be able to save your game while being the most unnerving and fucked up place is such a cool idea. It got to a point I hated saving my game and made completely sure I had everything I needed in my inventory because I absolutely do not wanna go back in there for as long as possible.

SH4 really is a mess, but the execution of the apartment saves it from being completely terrible.
