As I've said before, I will never, ever understand the consoomer mentality of "I love this game so much that I want to play a different game with the same title".

I think people want to artificially relive the hype and experience of their youth, and zoomers get to experience a classic in some weird roundabout way without having to subject themselves to sub-par graphics or antiquated controls.

As I am a sucker for japanese voice acting in some games I made a comparism between the English and Japanese voice acting. It's just the opening minutes but I think the Japanese has better emotion (probably no wonder given it's a Japanese game)

While I somewhat defended it intially after release. It's mainly for the fact it didn't cut anything. Being executed correctly is something else entirely. It's boring a dull. Tone deaf.

I still can't get over how bad Mary's monologue is.

There's certainly worse remakes out there. I think it's better than both 2make and 3make just for the fact it's all there. But it's just so bland. It's nice the original OST is there but again, it doesn't jive with the tone of the presentation.

Controversial take: I never had a Playstation back in the day and I am indeed too dumb/lazy to get an emulator set up for SH2 original specifically, so I am excited to experience SH2 firsthand in some form after hearing about it for decades.

I'm enjoying it so far (just did the prison) but fuck me the enemies launching at you every two seconds is so agitating. I don't find them creepy, just annoying as fuck - the fact they hide around corners and your radio doesn't activate until the enemy jumps you is dumb as hell.

Just making the combat functional would be an improvement. Everything else will piss off both sides as you state because the game was basically The Lord of the Flies featuring child abuse, rape and lesbians

Both suck. The Jap dub is still professional and sterile compared to the original just like the English performances. If you like anime you might prefer it. What emotion are you hearing? It sounds fucking terrible compared to emotional or lynchian anime I've heard. The Jap dub is easier on the ears. If I had a Silent Hill game with Japanese voices, I'd want it to sound like this.

Born From A Wish is teased which shouldn't be. The mansion area is changed and she mentions feeling bad around it. Pisses me off since Maria should never talk or allude to her experience there; she literally was given one revolver round in the beginning to show she had free will to not exist and in the ending ultimately rejects it and walks towards James despite the warning Baldwin gave her. Maria knows she is a manifestation. Another thing I hate is they made her a generic modern game follower that has to say something all the time like SHUT THE FUCK UP.
