He's the kind of guy who keeps places like gamestop in business. He'll buy a bunch of games he can't really afford and then have to sell them back to gamestop for pennies on the dollar when he needs money for his bills or food, or drugs more likely. Probably why he had so much anger towards gamestop, they've been fleecing him for decades now.

It was crazy how many times he would sell and then rebuy the same games over and over. And then he went full OCD and rebought all his games on switch, so he could repeat the same cycle with them too. Gotta buy them all on steam too and then never play them. He barely played most of these games that he would buy. In hindsight it really shows what a dopamine junkie he was. He constantly needed the stimulation of buying new video games, not just playing them.

But given Rob's other proclivities (junker cars, drugs, gambling, and shitty women), that was really the least of his problems.

He could easily get some of his Steam backlog out of the way as a holdover until he can actually afford shit again. There's no shortage of games in his library. If I remember he had about 500 games which 99% were free but gotta get them on Switch also for whatever reason. He has a Steam deck, there's no real reason to get Switch stuff when you not only have a much better more powerful handheld but also has way better discounts for shit then you can get for the Switch. He always lets his impusles control him and never stops to think if his purchase is really even worth it.

That and also it's an unstable career path. You say some stupid ass shit and get into some huge drama and everything can come crumbling down. If you can manage to become a successful streamer and make tons of money then you should invest whatever money you make. Tons of these online creators have no backup plan and end up going broke in the process when their channel is on it's deathbed.

Some Let's Play goon I used to watch eons ago was very insistent that streaming had somehow supplanted all and any standard gaming content creation, and that streams are totally the future of the internet! I definitely prefer Rob when he did edited videos that were between the 15-to-30 minutes range. I did notice he's very very unfocused on basically all of his streams and it's honestly grating, even for putting on the background while doing something else. I'm amazed Rob hasn't realized streaming is obviously not cut for him, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but alas.
