What I think is really funny here is Proud Family was made by a black man, who also worked on Emperor's New Groove and Princess and the Frog (which also got bitched about in the infographic.)

Clownfish sex-changes are doubly-hilarious because clownfish:

1. Have singular mating pairs. So if there's a shit-ton of fish in a group, it's still just the two top-fish that mate.
2. Are sequential hermaphrodites. So if the mating-female dies, the highest-ranked male becomes a female and starts making eggs. He never changes back and dies female.
3. When the top male becomes a female, the second-place male becomes the mating-male.

With this in mind, clownfish are a literal case of "Can't get a gf, become the gf".

You know what part of this drives me insane? The fact that it's not a fucking guide and it's actual title is misleading. It's not "consider ideas to integrate into a character", it's "avoid having these ideas", but it doesn't tell you what to replace them with. It doesn't overtly say "don't do this, or you're a racist" but it heavily implies that by having certain ideas, you're actively hurting BIPOC characters, there's no ways to do these archetypes, designs or motivations "right" presented, just examples of them being "harmful". Then it eventually just turns into, "draw what these other people tell you to".
The crazy thing is that if you actually try to apply all these things at once, you can't make any BIPOC characters. They can't be too mean, or too nice, or too dark, or too light, they can't have natural hair, or straight hair, etc, etc. So, in that case, what can they do?
Be a minority, but not an asian one because they're not dark enough.
Creators of color get a free pass because they're of color, but what if that creator doesn't present their race alongside their work? What if there's a black dude just making a webcomic, and they don't use their real name, or their real name isn't like, Jamarcus Dwayneson? Then they are immediately seen as some white dude who needs to get "educated" and start following a ruleset that aggressively limits creativity.
I could go on and on with examples of why this way of thinking is unironically toxic, but I won't. Not gonna lie tho, I'm pretty mad at the internet right now.

What gets to me is that the white hair isn’t even a beauty standard thing. White hair is associated with advanced age, which is in turn associated with wisdom, so it’s often given to youthful characters that are supposed to have an innate magical or mystical importance because it invokes the sense that they’re wise beyond their years.

That association doesn’t change with a character‘s ethnicity as there’s tons of white characters with white hair that invoke that same feeling. To make it a race thing is just comes off like looking for reasons to bitch.

I guess the characters at the top of the list are considered good examples. So excluding Static Shock who is good. We have Moana who is okay but personally meh to me. An inferior Mulan. Garnet who isn't even a human and has physical traits many would say are offensive. But she's gay so its okay. And Benson from Piko who is also gay.
So two gay characters and a decent Disney heroine. Moana doesn't have a love interest which is probably why she's up there.

The Mammy List - Didn't watch enough Kim Possible to know./ Gerald is not a mammy archetype just because he's black and his best friend happens to be white. Thanks for basically saying black and white kids can't be friends. I mean its basically Static Shock in reverse but in Hey Arnold's case its wrong because Gerald isn't the main character./ Suzie was made to be Angelica's rival . Angelica is constantly jealous of Suzie, how the fuck is that a mammy stereotype. How can a black character who is the same age as everyone else even be a mammy in the first place.

Stoic Savage- Despite how hamfisted and inaccurate Pocahontas is, the entire point of the movie is "what the white people did was bad." Color of the Wind is all about how its wrong to force your beliefs on others, especially out of ignorance./ Chel wanted to leave the city of gold and did totally as an autonomous character, blackmailing the con-men. Miguel and Tulio don't see her as a savage, at no point do they see any of the people as beneath them.

Consider Design - At this point this person can go jump off a bridge. How dare you tell anyone how to design their character just to keep your trigger meter down. Yue isn't even black. Everyone in TLA is supposed to be asian. Kida is from a fictional race, Storm has super powers and technically not fully human herself. If I want my dark skinned character to have green/blue eyes then she'll have them dammit. I bet they won't raise such complaints against anime.

Consider Agency- The only part I will give half of a point to. I was a little upset that Tiana spends the vast majority of the movie as a frog. I do believe Disney did that to avoid any and all racial issues that come with featuring a black woman in the 1920s. Don't want to show historically accurate racism now do we./ Kuzco is the god emperor of his entire country, is an arrogant bitch who needed to be taught a lesson. I never saw Brother Bear but I think it also had something to do with learning a lesson. Does anyone remember a cartoon called Willy the Sparrow, about the little white boy who got turned into a bird to learn a lesson about not hurting animals. Also Brave. Brave did this. Was that racist?

Consider Colorism- Colorism is real, and that MIGHT be why they colored the gross sister's blue. But the info graphic creator basically agrees with her opposition that the gross sisters are ugly so...I dunno. I didn't like that mexican chick either, whos name I forget. Bullies are always the worst characters in kid shows unless they have likeable personalities.
