The way she draws her mother and the interactions (she claims) they had is really weird. The ‘grip’ on the shoulder, the forlorn look when her mother won’t let her take sex ed (which IS inappropriate for prepubescent children based on the sex ed curriculum being pushed nowadays) it almost seems like she’s resentful towards her mum for fucking dying and causing her to ‘hate her body’. At least until she was sexually groomed by another woman. And let’s be honest, if you’re relying on OJST for sexual advice you’re doing something very very wrong.

The mom reminds me of a woman I went to college with who thought sex ed was like "teaching a kid how to build a bomb and telling them not to use it" and that "we should teach kids to hate and fear sex". She also had this thinly-veiled disgust towards anything sexual that I think even the fundementalist Christian kids (who wanted out of the figure drawing class) would tell her to cool it. So I have some empathy for the main character here.

Edit: Also going to call bullshit on this whole thing, considering she made this (https://www.ohjoysextoy.com/headcanons-jey-pawlik/) comic about her fantasizing over gay sex as teenager, when she claims that she was ‘scared’ of sexually.

That last panel....why would you have a dildo/dick sculpture/not actually sure, but why would you have it just out there, in the open, for anyone to see? I get using references to draw with, but that's a bit far. Also, it sort of implies that maybe you are just a bit too obessed with sex if genitals/sex stuff is all that you draw and think/talk about now.
