as far as i'm aware within that kind of culture, it's because they believe mermaids, as mammals, would have to be covered in blubber (aka be obese) to survive the cold water, like whales. so they believe all mermaids would HAVE to be fat.

Nah that's just an excuse. For one, blubber isn't just regular fatass fat. It's a particular type of extremely dense insulation which in humans is found almost exclusively in newborns who can't shiver yet. It's shoved in all the nooks and crannies between organs to keep their internal temperature up-- do that with a human and all you get is heart disease.

The OC on the left used to be a sausage-lipped femboy, now as the artist spirals further and further down the Prove I'm A Valid Trans rabbit hole (long story, TL;DR is they're copying the transition of a guy they've been harassing, stalking, and tracing for 6+ years) their self-insert character becomes more and more strange and grotesque after a period of relative normalcy (seen right). The character has....intentionally botched top surgery from a quack, which they....love? They like that their chest was mangled?

So, what's the shit below?
It's the effect this kind of art has on impressionable kids. Almost all of Dollieguts's orbiters except for KittyWolfXxX have declared themselves nonbinary lesbians for the Kinoshita Aesthetic and many given their self-insert characters the same freakish botched surgeries such as Slugkit, noah_valentine, and Sxncubus while in the real world doing everything they can to look like Tearzah herself. The artist who drew this on the left created their own Kinoshita Klone, right down to the botched top chop, and is now aggressively pursuing testosterone after getting the same haircut and piercings as Tearzah. (Bonus fugly cankles for your "-And Extremes" needs!) Worst part is this kid is far from the only one. Thanks to the now expedited process of surgery and hormone approval, god knows how many kids are going to damage themselves before they have the chance to snap out of this emo teen phase.
