Vivaldi+Ublock Origin works for me. Getting ads now even with ubO on Brave now though. never gotten a YT ad on brave browser watching m.youtube.com on phone, funny enough
Not too worried about android, since I've got revanced. Honestly, I'd rather just exclusively watch on my phone than switch browsers. Thanks, though.

Worst-case scenario, I guess I'll just download videos, watch them, and then delete them.

I tried to install "revanced" ages ago and it bricked my old phone (think I stupidly downloaded a fake), watch out and make sure you get a real apk or whatever. NewPipe doesn't work for me anymore anyway

Make sure to use the github and follow those instructions

Edit: Interesting. Saw someone mention this on the youtube subreddit: https://docs.invidious.io/instances/

I've recently started using BraveNewPipe for my smartphone YouTube needs. It's a fork of NewPipe with SponsorBlock, but it includes support for a few other media platforms such as Soundcloud, Rumble and BitChute. I've been using it for a while and it feels exactly the same as NewPipe, only it'll let me stream MATI and watch other things that aren't on YT.

Just like NewPipe, it's a bit of a palaver to set it up first time around i.e. exporting subscriptions from YT and importing into the app. At least you don't need to sign into your Google account to use it.

There's even a version for people using ancient KitKat devices.

About the only thing missing is Odysneed support, but I guess we can't have everything.

Any one have any suggestion for a email spam filter for android? I'm using K-9 which doesn't have any autofilters, I'd love to know if there's a fork or complementary app for this purpose.

People mentioning the android options for youtube, well here is also the Windows and Linux desktop option as well

FreeTube

I have used it for a few years now and whilst it can be a tinybit sluggish to connect to a video (I think my browser is so well set up its near instant, so a second or two wait is noticeable). It also bypass age restriction and allows for sublists whilst not using an account, if you are that type of user. Never had an advert on it ever, and zero pop ups. It can download videos or audio, although I have never used it as I use Jdownloader2 instead. (Not bothered with ytp, as I like my software to look like janky w95 affairs)

Why do people use this browser again?
Well it has more features than any other browser, IPFS, Crypto shit built in, basic TOR browsing. The crypto tokens for seeing their ads as opposed to the pozzed ones are a benefit, but the tokens are eating shit in value because of the current advertiser market crash. Its clearly the best of the Chromium based browsers in terms of feature set, the second best out there browser would be Firefox. People need to give up the "muh privacy" shtick, the moment your data leaves your network it gets pozzed, aim for comfort in avoiding advertisements and keeping your identity safe from other users of services that is about the best you can do these days.

Given the browser talk I'd like to mention LibreWolf once again, it's Firefox unpozzed and hardened out of the box.
No more allegria screamer-popup, same extension support as FX.
(For Windows users of the non-portable version, do note the auto updater is a separate install)

I've been using it for 2-3 years as a "daily browser" to fight my crippling tabs hoarding, very happy with it.

While I'm at it some (Firefox/LibreWolf) extensions I recoommend:
General:
uBlock Origin
I still don't care about cookies
DarkReader - Force Dark theme on all site works out of of the box on 90% of websites
Nitter Redirect - Lets you read tweets
Youtube:
I still don't care about cookies - again - Kill the pesky ToS pop-up
Tweaks for Youtube - Amazing all in one to make Yt bearable (also support export & import of settings into a file)
SponsorBlock - Auto skip in-video sponsors segments, can be set up to skip interaction reminders ("please subscribe") and recaps intro too
Channel Blocker - DELETE cognito-hazard thumbnails one channel at a time

I was actually just coming here to rec this, after finding it and testing it out a bit. Better than normal Invidious, because it will save where you are, if you're watching a long video and need to close it for whatever reason, and you can subscribe to channels despite not being able to log in. The only real downside is that you can't sync it between phone and PC, so you can't listen to a podcast while driving and then continue it on your computer at home.

Edit: Oh, and you can watch in 1080p, unlike the other Invidious sites I've tried out which were capped at 720. Maybe higher, in videos that support it?

Thanks. The newpipe dev is a german faggot who doesn't like adding platforms that have "hate speech".

Any VPN recommendations? I've tried Mullvad and Proton VPN, which were both good. Currently leaning towards Proton for its feature set. Any other good ones I should try?

AirVPN is good if you want to torrent. I know Mullvad doesn't allow port forwarding anymore, don't know about Proton.

Is this one any good?

For anyone who cares, Firefox 115 ESR is a damn good release thus far. I'm just saying: you can't really go wrong with a vanilla Firefox installation where you disable the telemetry stuff, turn on Strict ETP settings, enable HTTPS mode in all windows, and clear all browser data on exit. Round that out with uBlock Origin, and you basically have a pretty good secondary browser for whatever purpose.

The same praises also go to Tor/Mullvad 13.0. Speaking of which, the Arkenfox project began relaxing some default settings; it's now almost usable out of the box if you have no need for WebGL content. On that note, I've made peace with the fact that I'll need a Chromium browser installed for whatever odd site that isn't compatible with Firefox flat-out. I uninstalled Brave entirely, having settled with using Microsoft Edge set to clear all browser data upon exit.

Any VPN recommendations?
I've been using PIA for years now. Great stuff, simple to use, and one yearly price covers my PC / tablet / phone / two more devices. They also haven't cucked to sending logs of VPN activity to cops as proven in US Colorado District court. That said, don't fuck around and think it's a magical shield from dumbfuckery, your IP is still able to be tied with a VPN in some methods, PIA just doesn't log.

Though I actually came here and parused looking for Crypto wallet suggestions. I originally used Jaxx, then to Jaxx Liberty, and now that is defunct. Absolutely not keeping anything in Coinbase, and was curious what others may recommend for current wallet options.
