Something I Don't Get About Indie Creators

Hey, remember when this thread was supposed to be about indie creators?
To be fair there are a lot of indie JRPG creators.

I'm not well-versed in what the indies have been doing with the genre, but what I saw is that they fall into the earlier complaint about just wanting to imitate but not push forward in any way--so many sound like the same ages 9 to 12 anime plots we've had since forever, and since a lot of these people don't have the same issues with gameplay that me or Grub do, they won't be motivated to fix... or their fix will be just "add a reflexes/action element" like the AAA studios do.
