Naughty Dog has actually stated otherwise and claimed they had a major role in that development and that it wasn't Iron Galaxy doing everything.

Tweets from ND employee and Naughty Dog hinted that it was a collaborative effort, which supposedly happened with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection as apparently ND and Iron Galaxy co-developed it.
Overall, it was likely co-developed between ND and Iron Galaxy, so they still get the blame for that shitshow.
I'll always remember how confusing the NA cover really was, and yet the PAL cover is still way WAY better.

It's not recent, it's an extension of the previous generations "giant floating face in the cover" to make vidya easier for Cletus McWalmart to identify and put on his cart.
Ideally I would love for all games to feature gorgeous commissioned artwork but that's pricey, and in the current sintgy time we live in, a face portrait is all we're getting.

Fucking... how? Hasn't it been confirmed that the GayStation Portal runs on a heavily skinned version of Android? Can't they just have the default AOSP browser show up whenever situations like this occur?
