MOD EDIT:
For context, Sony is frequently subjected to data breaches, including full doxes with account names, passwords, and addresses, and the PSN service they are enforcing is not available in every country which has PC Helldivers II players. The PSN user agreement includes draconian practices such as the ability to ban users for entering false personal information.
In case you thought you hated Sony enough, a new update came out about Helldivers 2 on Steam. They are now requiring you to link a Playstation Network account to play Helldivers 2 on Steam. For extra hilarity, it was just announced yesterday that Helldivers 2 is the 7th highest grossing Sony published game in history but if they don't count the PC sales, it wouldn't even rank in the top 20.

I don't know if this was mentioned here, but this happened right a bit after Sony patented this:

It almost looks planned. Also, the
article in the tweet actually mentions pictures of how this actually works, & it's basically Sony literally going "wrong-think" & "thought crime" enforcement territory now.
Edit: For those who want more information on said patents. Here's the official Patentscope WIPO links to the
1st &
2nd patents. Now, to explain this system further, it's called the "HARASSMENT DETECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD" (basically wrong-think Gestapo). What it does is that, it will actively record the in-game emotional data of users to see how they behave with each other. An example as per this MK Ultra tier Pet RPG emotion chart from the 2nd Patent:

Sony could detect when a player is "harassed" (in the same way how mothers always keep getting "raped" due to Xbox Live Voice Chats) from due to their rising heartbeat & other similar emotional changes.
This is my personal autism on this, but going by this chart from the 1st Patent, it basically measures the heartbeats through the controller & the VR headset.

The publisher would use that info to take appropriate action & take the thought criminal behind the shed &.... I mean, "quell the issue without making the "victim" go through manual steps".
As per the patent, Sony would relocate the victim in the game to be away from the harasser or vice versa, basically, it's a virtual witness protection for a heated virtual verbal barter, prosecuted on the possibility of it occuring, let alone actually occuring to begin with. Additionally, it would also cut off communication between both parties to protect the victim from further "harassment", kinda like an automated shadow-ban combined with what could essentially be a virtual restraining order. We can expect the publisher to punish the perpetrator by banning them entirely.
One more thing, going by both the patent's application dates this isn't actually a new thing, but Sony supposedly planned this shit since October of 2022 (the 2nd one with the emotions chart), & September of 2023 (the 1st one with the neuron activation VR headset).
Another thing, apparently this is last year's Sony Patent:

Edit: This wasn't from last year, this was Sony's attempt to fagify PS4 once.
