And before 9am CDT, Helldivers 2 hit the 50% negative review threshold.
oh no stinky.jpg

Also at 50K negative reviews so far today, with 71k yesterday, so we're well on track for exponential growth. No idea how long it continues, but the review score is permafucked.

Many of their older releases still are. Since you play it on pc and can get mods. PlayStation is known for both shovelware and having no games depending on the console generation. But there are still some gems that are timeless classics. Their current gen games are not really worth pirating though. Kind of like how Nintendo sucks but people will still play oot and Mario 64 on emulators even though their current games are not worth pirating either.
Pikmin 4 is not only worth pirating but it's also worth buying. You can really tell that it's the only thing Miyamoto still cares about.

I've just submitted my 5th refund request. The fourth one had someone's name attached but still got declined and had the generic two weeks out message.
i keep getting denied, really pissed off because the game actually sucks ass and i dont think ill ever play it again regardless, im just using this as an excuse to get my money back

I'm starting to wonder if the Helldivers 2 dev has enough tangible proof to take Sony to court over this. A decision made by Sony and forced onto the dev, after that developer made a very successful product, completely euthanized that product's success and got the dev's product deplatformed. The dev's reputation is absolutely tarnished as well.

it’s kind of impressive how Playstation in recent years has gone through controversy after controversy, increasing the price of PS5 consoles, increasing PS+ prices. Increasing game prices, data breaches, shutting down and killing studios that made games and IPs that defined them during the PS2 and PS3 era.

Yet Microsoft has never been able to win people back to Xbox after the 360, and if anything the gap between PlayStation and Xbox is only getting larger. There are millions of people who will never buy a pc for gaming but still want to play games. Nintendo systems are always underpowered and Xbox seemingly has nothing to compel people to switch despite spending billions on studios and having seemingly unlimited money.

The market for consoles will always exist and for normies it’s PlayStation or nothing. Microsoft really needs to get their shit together and do something to get people interested in Xbox again. If Microsoft announced that online play doesn't need a subscription anymore, they could defeat Sony overnight. Spend your money on that instead of buying studios and then doing nothing with them.

I've been reading rumors MS is planning to exit the console market with the next generation and focus on publishing games.

That will leave Sony as a monopoly for high-end graphics in a console (you can't say nintendo's market is the same as XBOX/PS)

The "console wars" were won, by PCs

Flexin' on them dumbass Oreos and crackas, shieeeeet
the ps5 is white tho..?

Tried to get a refund, they refused. Will try again with different wording
if you're in the EU play the consumer protection card, otherwise be nice and suggest wallet refund (thus steam basically keeps the money, companies sometimes are more willing knowing you'll spend it in the future). raging at the CS drone is pointless, poor wagie is just following current policy. some are lazy dipshits tho...

A big reason why Xbox has never been able to win people back is because this gen is effectively an extension of last gen. People bought PS4s and have a massive library built up already. They don't want to rebuy games or have to switch between different consoles, so even if the Xbox Series is slightly more powerful and affordable, it's a nonstarter. Hell, even Microsoft probably saw this coming on a certain level because they turned this gen into the game pass gen ("no need to rebuy your games, just subscribe to goypass!"). It obviously didn't work, but it does hint that they are aware of their problems with low install bases.

They've already confirmed that they're going all out on the next-gen Xbox. No one really knows what they're going to do but I highly doubt they'll exit the console space.

Right from the beginning, consoles only ever existed because early home computer hardware left a lot of relatively low-cost performance on the table. Once that was no longer the case by the mid or late 2000s, the writing was on the wall.
Well there were also a few periods where consoles legitimately exceeded what you could get on PC hardware. The PS1 and N64 both had better 3D hardware on release than you could get for PCs and most PC gamers weren't using 3D acceleration until like 1997. Same thing happened with the Xbox 360, although it only took a few months for comparable PC GPUs to come out.

Lol, there is no chance Arrowhead can sue Sony. I guarantee you their contract relationship is a literal "For Hire" Contractor. Sony owns everything. They even own the Copyright.

At best, the only thing Arrowhead could do is find some sort of contractual reason to end the relationship and require Sony strike all their attributions and branding from the game. But they are most definitely not doing that.

Try going into steam support and do the process for "I have a question about the game" some people are saying that puts them in contact with a real person.

I'm still amazed Sony is prioritizing data collection over having actual sales. I mean it's not surprising but still.

Archive.anything is taking a dump right now.

Seems the Arrowhead Defense Force troons can suck it though. Arrowhead CEO admitted they knew 6 MONTHS prior to launch that PSN linking would ultimately be required. Arrowhead engaged in straight up fraud.

That sounds less like "a part" and more like "the whole thing". Any argument about the devs being in the right just went up in smoke.
