Nintendo Switch has just passed the 150 million consoles sold milestone. Nintendo revised their forecast down from 13.5 million console sales to 11 million sales, making it the best selling console ahead of PS2.

Not to worry, cope the Sony fans, Switch doesn't count as a console because it's a handheld, therefore it doesn't beat the PS2.

Sony will revise their numbers again, after Switch is discontinued lmao

This is my 2000th post on the farms! The Sony Hate Thread was one of the first places I posted after upgrading from lurker status, so I would like to celebrate it with an announcement; something to remember if you ever find yourself questioning what you’re doing or why you’re here. A reminder, if you will:
playstation is for niggers

Either that or they produce the PS2 again. I dunno, maybe they make a microconsole that runs PS2 games and count those sales. I mean I'd like that.
Would be cool if they make it again with some upgrades that will still play ps2 disc's, but give it a quality upscale and color correction for modern tvs. I can emulate my games no problem, but it would be nice to play with my younger brothers with ease of setup.

For that to happen and for it to be hardware accurate instead of a shitty Chinesium emulator box, other companies would need to restart manufacturing old components that the PS2 used, like Toshiba's MIPS 5900 used by the Emotion Engine graphics chip among other things. Same deal with all those old consoles. It'll never happen.

At least Nintendo had the decency to keep up hardware compatibility from the Gamecube to the Wii U through superset architecture. Sony's mistake with back compat on the PS3 was that they didn't innovate their hardware to be both back compatible and cost effective like they did with the fat PS2's PS1 support. I'm not an engineer, but if they had somehow incorporated the EE within the new PS3 hardware instead of manufacturing both seperately, and if they had continued that into the PS4, today we could have had PS5s that would natively run and enhance PS2 games at a hardware level. But Sony is a lolcow company and debilitatingly retarded which is why we have these problems.

Even the PS3 had a lot more variety back then
Agreed, and that variety was all over the place and was the last time I’ve been genuinely excited about PlayStation. I think them not doing so well for so long gave Sony the chance to try and do as much weird and new things as they could to try and find something that would hit. It’s why I know we will never get anything like Tokyo Jungle from them. Hell even PlayStation Home was a more interesting idea then anything they’ve done for the PS5. Shit like that is why I miss when gaming stuff was made for the audience who played games and not the audience who consumes products because of brands.

Guys, I need you all to look at what's currently the 8th game on the list. I don't want to spoil it, it's something you need to see for yourself.
It's real!!!
