My teacher called me (my name)-Chan during classes
Really??? That's kind of... derogatory, almost? Was this a male teacher?

No, it was a woman. I didn't really consider it derogatory although I'm pretty sure it should have been -San, I think she was just attached to her students and treated us more as a little family, almost. A ways through the course some more students joined the class and she really used to mother us all a bit, making us little care packages and such. She was a sweetie!
It does of course depend on context/atmosphere and such, and that does sound like the most appropriate possible student-teacher situation for the suffix! Usually teachers do address students with -san (or -kun) though.

My mind kind of just immediately jumped to the Japanese men my dad does business with, who refer to my dad and his male coworkers as (last name)-san but to female employees as (first name)-chan because they're women and don't deserve as much respect obviously. *yawn*

In the previous forum, I went by the name of gottafish, after Chris' "I Gotta a Fish" video. I then decided to use the name "c-no" which is really my nickname "Chino"(A nick-name I had since middle school, where people mistook my Filipino heritage for Chinese) with just the first letter, a hyphen, and the last two letters.

It was based off of some game I found back in the day of ED...just hitting random until a name popped up. Ever since then, I've coined it for a few things.

I used to work for a local ice cream company here in Alaska. It's not really a part of my identity but it's stuck, regardless.

An Ice Cream Company... in Alaska...
I wonder how much business you had.

You get the idea.

I can't remember why I chose this name, but I do remember being pretty drunk when I did. I probably thought it sounded cool at the time.

The Knife is a semi-obscure Swedish techno duo. They're so far removed from the sort of music that I usually listen to that I was surprised by how much I liked them. When I joined up here, I knew I wanted a forum name unrelated to any other name I've used elsewhere, so I chose the one band that was also something new and unlike my usual style. Plus I'd just seen the new remake of Carrie the night before I joined the forum, and the idea of Margaret White and a knife was in my head and I wanted a name that could play off that.

TL;DR: I'm named after a band. Bands are cool.

Well, I started as a lurker on the original forums. I never had any intention of joining because while I was fascinated by Chris, I didn't have much to say about him that hasn't been said already. After a while, the forum was closed to lurkers and an account was needed to join in. I just made a simple account with the username "blue" because blue is my favorite color and I didn't think anybody else would want to take it.

After a while, I got banned for inactivity as another crackdown on lurkers came about. So I ban-evaded with the username Cyan since it's a close color to blue.

Yay for color-names! (though mine is slavic)

Kagayaki: "radiance" in Japanese. Also the first opening theme of Kamen Rider Hibiki.

I just like the expression 'calm your tits' so hence my username.

Think I made this account to comment on something, chose a name/phrase that Chris would probably never say.

I got sick of my old general username, but lacked the inspiration/motivation to come up with anything super cool to replace it. Instead, I just picked the most inoffensive exclamatory word I could think of.

wow Such riveting.

I'm a fan of musician Devin Townsend, of Strapping Young Lad fame and his pretty awesome solo career. One of his albums is called "Ziltoid the Omniscient" (which would have been my full username if it weren't too long).

It's essentially a concept album about an eponymous space alien who comes to earth for the best cup of coffee, but then destroys the world.
In the end, the album is all in the head of a lazy cafe worker.

Ziltoid The Omniscient is one of my favorite albums ever.

"YOU shall fetch me your universe's ultimate cup of coffee. Black. You have five Earth minutes. Make it perfect!"

bumping this because I like threads like these.

I'm CWC's verbal tic, obv.

(okay, more: last accounts were not_letters, for no real reason. I like to write letters, but I put in the not_ to be sneeeeeaky. Because uh...I guess I was tired or something, idk)

(Also, funny thing, back when the Mumbles were just coming out, Chris' verbal tics, especially ".....MMMHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" really grated on me at first. After a while, they went from grating to pretty funny *yawn* But I chose hm yeah, because having a username like MMMMHHHHhhhhh isn't going to work )
