Good thread. A lot of the stuff to come out of this community is hilarious, but I know there's no way I'd be able to take it all in by browsing myself. I'm too old and too busy, I guess.
Can anyone explain the Dutch connection? I've read the thread and spent a bit of time lurking but I'm still clueless. Is it just because they like that show? I remember being shown some Massa videos going back 7 or so years (and the Willem van Oranje videos a bit more recently), but it's so weird seeing all this on an English site.

I agree with those saying the site contains echoes of early 4chan and that's what draws me in. I don't want to argue with others who see differently, but god it feels weird seeing this as someone who spent formative teen years on 4chan. Weird also because obviously I'm older now and I realize I can't relive the past and couldn't enmesh myself in this site's culture even if I wanted to (I don't).
As others have said, it's the creativity that makes you think about 4chan circa 2006 to 2008. They really do make OC and a lot of it is hilarious. The raids are mostly cringey and shit, but most raids always have been. Some of them are definitely funny. I've outgrown that shit but it's great to laugh at.
And the politically incorrect humor, of course. Obviously 4chan still does that and the whole current year environment makes expressing sentiments like GAS THE KIKES ! RACE WAR NOW! come off differently, but they are doing it better than /pol/. I'm not a rightoid Chud but TND brings me back and it's much funnier than anything you see on /pol/ these days.
It's sad that OC is few and far between on 4chan these days. But I'm in the minority that never left 4chan. It isn't nearly as good as it used to be, but I browse regularly on particular boards and won't listen to anyone who says it's a useless website. I was never on /qa/ and, the few times I looked at it, I thought the users were retarded /trash/-tier fags. Maybe I didn't look closely enough back then, but I'm glad to see that something interesting has come out of that crowd.
