CSAM is currently being posted on /soy/, hold off on visiting the site for a while to give the spammer time to get bored to avoid risking anything that could get you V& from ending up on your PC.

Truthfully I don't know, but I thought I'd warn other kiwis as I know if the feds ever want to search my PC for whatever reason I wouldn't want some fuck collection thumbnail hidden away that I never noticed as it was on the bottom of Page 1 of the soyjak meme site.

More of a thing of "Excuse to take your stuff and look through it to find more incriminating things."
It is like going to someone's house and hearing a gunshot, that's probable cause to enter.
Let us say that you have CSAM in your cache, and for whatever reason, your computer is seized or your data is requested, let us assume it is due to some sort of financial scam thing, or because you took it into a repair store and it is found by the technician. The CSAM on your cache acts as probable cause for your entire computer being investigated.
Whether or not you get charged for having it or not depends specifically on what else they find on your device; if you have no incriminating stuff on your device, then most likely not unless you have pissed someone off. If you have incriminating stuff on your device outside of it? Then chances are more likely you'll get charges, especially if you have pissed someone off.

The question is whether or not you are clean, and if you know anyone that is pissed off at you; with you in particular? I'd avoid that situation because you haven't exactly been the cleanest netizen, and you've probably pissed off a few people.

I have heard of a story where an innocent guy on Telegram got put in jail for cp because someone uploaded it in a huge (thousand+) member group chat and telegram auto downloaded it to his pc in the telegram cache. It was in Russia and some teachers found it when they took his phone at the start of the school day. I looked but I cant find the story

Also be very careful about downloading zips and other large files. Theres been an incident where someone uploaded a mass scrape of the booru and it had CP in it. The sharty is chock full of CP so if you dont review every file you get from it your putting yourself at risk

Possession of CSAM is not illegal in Russia.
