This is something that wasn't a problem in 2011. The culture changed. I could metagame with a friend, hiding valve bombs in backpacks near security, medbay and such and blow that shit up. admins wouldn't intervene. God forbid you make a harmless IED these days though.

It's been repeated in this thread for hundreds of times now but yes, the wacky space station game is filled with a lot of antisocial and downright degenerate people acting like the character they play as is really them and anything that happens to their character is happening to them, causing any kind of inconvenience that's either in or out of their control to irritate them to the point they ahelp. I have seen a lot of examples where targets that had to be killed by traitors complain about being killed, I'm sure in the past they would be laughed at, but since they make up the majority of a server's playerbase the trooned out admins have an excuse to ban overall antaggery and control what kind of actions are allowed in the server. This is in lower roleplaying servers mind you, where these kind of people have no place in. This and several other issues have caused the people who treat the game as a game and try to have fun into moving to other servers or leaving the game entirely. You can't even say bitch in Goonstation without being bwoinked, it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Ah the Jhonny Test and sims content was confirmed? I did had a feeling those could be true since it was very specific shit, but by that point I was being less active in the game as a whole due to starting my studies for uni, but its good he got kicked out then. IIRC the Mod team didn't had alot of skill when it came to trying and damage control that shit, especially since Apophis just up and handed over the keys to Jaime.

Hrm. IIRC he was jobbanned from being CO/XO after some games because people reported him for griefing and wanted to him to stop. I don't think he was ever banned for good, only job banned.

I mean haven't you ever noticed how the tranny plays get the most vulgar when you ruin the illusion they put up of not just themselves but of those around them. Inconveniencing someone especially these players is treated as if it were the greatest mortal sin imaginable and instead of getting security or dealing with something like this ic they go out of their way to get admins on you because you directly ruined their illusion. I've noticed when I kill some of these people as traitors I always seem to get found out they or they almost immediately leave the server or their friends will disconnect because you killed one of them. The only ss13 server that is fun these days is the kiwi farms server. People don't immedietly cry to the owner because I shot them for zero reason they get a lynch mob together and kill me there is better "Roleplay" on a ss13 server with nearly zero rules than the "H/MRP" servers

I wanted to check out ss14 happenings and stumbled across the forum and found a post asking why the Patreon has been abandoned for 2+ years. The project lead just posted this :story:

TL;DR I’m overworked, burnt out, and not mentally very well.

I don’t want this post to come over as a massive list of excuses, It mostly comes down to the fact that the Patreon is my responsibility, and I have way too many things like that. I have dozens and dozens of things rattling around in my head that I really need to do with SS14, I’m not good at prioritizing, and I have ADHD. Menial tasks like “regularly post updates” and “log into patreon to download the list of members to update the in-game credits” fall to the wayside way more quickly than whatever high-priority thing I feel like I need to deal with.

Specifically about the actual updates on Patreon: those used to be the actual Progress Reports we published to the site, when we still did those. Originally I put significant workload into those myself. Those Progress Reports have fallen to the wayside (in no small part because the project just kept growing and it was harder and harder to do).

It would feel kind of bad to me to just start putting Lilten’s update videos on the Patreon given he’s not exactly getting a penny from that, and I’m not sure what else I could put on there. The Patreon isn’t for “me”, it’s for the project as a whole. I’ve long had the idea that if I did like, make SS14 my full-time job (still no idea if this is even feasible), I’d post weekly updates on what I did myself that week. But well that’s not really what’s happening so it’s kind of in limbo.

I also feel the need to admit the Patreon just gives me massive anxiety, because I feel like I’m not taking it as serious as above. And that doesn’t make the executive dysfunction/ADHD any better. It’s also why this took me a month to respond to. I’ve been stressing about it every few days, it’s not like I forgot, it’s just hard to even get myself to properly write something out like this and address it.

I've seen no indication PJB was employed since he had the internship at Level 27, which corresponded with him being quite inactive. Is there any more info beyond that? He's posting about living with his mom and everything on Mastodon and never seen it mentioned. I scrolled one more time for this post and just even more confirmation they read this thread and the orgy post lead to the orgy being cancelled.
