Are the Dazzler comics actually worth a read? I remember liking the character when she was part of the X-Men but never bothered to check out her own series because I heard that she doesn't really act the same in them and that the plots are all very silly and weird. In preparation for Dazzler omni coming in October, I went back and reread some of her stuff. I had no idea she and Galactus had a history lmao at least her being a herald in What If? comic.

Also completely forgot about her sister.
I've never read a Dazzler solo book nor really anything with her in it but I still find it funny that she hold a solo title for 40 issues. Are the Dazzler comics actually worth a read? Yeah Marvel seemed to love her back then but I'm not sure how many fans she really has. There's another miniseries staring her that's going to start later this month maybe it'll turn into another regular series for her if it sells enough.I've never read a Dazzler solo book nor really anything with her in it but I still find it funny that she hold a solo title for 40 issues.
Which it won'tmaybe it'll turn into another regular series for her if it sells enough.
You know why right? She was originally created to be a fictional muscial act that put out real music like the Archies. The music/TV/Film stuff never got off the groundMarvel seemed to love her back
I generally like Lemire, but I think he's putting out so much stuff these days the quality is starting to suffer a bit. He's still better than most of the people currently working at DC.
It's getting reprinted later this year. DC seems to be increasing the amount of collected editions they do, which is nice.

Yeah, Dazzler was co-created as a cross-promotional multi-media project by Marvel and Casablanca Records, which was supposed to have included a film starring Rodney Dangerfield, Casablanca artists like KISS, Cher, the Village People, Donna Summer, etc. but that and everything else was shelved except for the comic.
Jim Shooter explained it in his own way in this blog entry.
DC is finally reprinting the last, greatest era of Superman. He's terrible at team books. So judging from X-men, Justice league, and teen titans that'd be a big miss.
I'll look into the reprints, but it's a matter of what and how? Is DC reprinting good stuff? Is it doing it in nice collections?
I mean she features pretty heavy in Rogues back story #24, Jim Shooter writes a number of issues, and John Romita Jr. draws the series first few issues before Frank Springer comes forward. What's remarkable is how forward facing Dazzler as a property was. It's a cross pollination attempt.
It's mediocre to decent comics. But there are a bunch of these titles at Marvel in this time. Spider-woman is a solid bland comic.
I know most of Deadpool's stuff is slop by this point, but the time he was the herald was pretty good. A pity I don't have it to post here.In preparation for Dazzler omni coming in October, I went back and reread some of her stuff. They are campy cheesy and dated. Fun. She was seen as a joke in the late 1980s and 90s because disco was seen as all but outdated. Are the Dazzler comics actually worth a read? Yeah. She can convert sound into light. If you are going to attack her, do not do it in a nightclub because you'll probably be collecting disability checks for the rest of your life. Basically she is as powerful as Storm and Jean if need be. She accidentally blew most of white Betsy Braddock's face off once.Dazzler seems like an interesting concept but I know little about her. Makes light of varying collimation from sound, yes?

How is it that it took that shitty Inhumans show to have Black Bolt actually use sign language? They are campy cheesy and dated. Fun. She was seen as a joke in the late 1980s and 90s because disco was seen as all but outdated.
I recall she fucked off to Mojoland until Jean Grey contacted her in 2001 to help her rescue Xavier. She was washed up by then.
She later briefly underwent a Sex Pistols meets P!nk reinvention before being killed and subsequently brought back to life by Sage and New Excalibur. She eventually.went back to blonde long hair. I think she does Gaga esque electronic and trance type music.
She is also Shatterstar's mother. She was with Longshot for a while. I have no idea if he still makes appearances.

When Emma Frost needed to deal with Black Bolt, she didn't call on just anyone. She called her.

I don't know how anyone can hate Barry, but I do prefer Wally. Largely as a result of the incredible DCAU Rosenbaum version, but his comics did have some awesome stories with really nice art. I liked the rogues during his run as well.So I was lurking around X a month or so again and noticed some Wally West stans rejoicing that DC pushed Barry Allen into the background. Personally, I don't mind it as Josh Williamson's run felt like a bookend to Barry's ongoing storyline and Jeremy Adam's run fully redeemed Wally after the shit DC put him through after Rebirth. However, there appears to be a subset of the fandom that has a visceral hatred of Barry and Silver Age characters in general. This extends to Hal Jordan as well as there are DCAU fans who "REEEEEE!" about John Stewart being the best Green Lantern ever. Many of them enjoy bringing up Emerald Twilight, which had been controversial in its day with some autist paying for a full-page ad in Wizard magazine demanding the reinstatement of Hal and the Corps.
Thankfully. Didiot was a apt name for him.Dan DiDio is gone and he can no longer continue his character assassinations of Wally and Dick.
I love that Brave and the Bold made Guy Gardner as their go-to Lantern. Honestly, most of the Human lanterns got some love in the cartoons. If anything, John was as relatively flat as pre-Rebirth Hal that DC pushed into the background (and even briefly crippled) after Emerald Twilight. They only made him a Green Lantern again because he was the GL on the animated series, a decision made--in part--to sidestep the Hal vs. Kyle debate as some fans were displeased that Kyle was the GL on Superman: The Animated Series.
How DC fixed Wally shows how you can fix all the damage done to a character and Marvel needs to take notes for Spider-Man. Jeremy Adam's needs to be on ASM to fix it.So I was lurking around X a month or so again and noticed some Wally West stans rejoicing that DC pushed Barry Allen into the background. the only one's missing are Alan and Simon Baz. Simon kinda doesn't count.I love that Brave and the Bold made Guy Gardner as their go-to Lantern. Honestly, most of the Human lanterns got some love in the cartoons.
my issue is that we have too many Flashes and not enough team books to hold them all.How DC fixed Wally shows how you can fix all the damage done to a character and Marvel needs to take notes for Spider-Man. Jeremy Adam's needs to be on ASM to fix it.
Wally is my favorate Flash followed by Jay with Barry third. Honestly, I don't think I hate any of the Earth Prime flashes, even Ace I'm cool with.
Black Bolt’s power isn’t sound related, it’s just connected to his speech. Kind of like how Cyclops power is connected to his eyes, but isn’t him reflecting a certain spectrum of light from his eyes or intensifying it.They are campy cheesy and dated. Fun. If I had to speculate, I would say it is misplaced anger as Dan DiDio did everything in his power to sideline Wally. Reading Flash comics between Infinite and Final Crisis was a painful experience. First they aged up Bart Allen to force him into the role and unceremoniously killed him off after fans revolted. Mark Waid's abrupt departure hobbled Wally's "grand" return right out of the gate, which paved the way for Barry's return. Of course, it didn't help that Flash: Rebirth massively shilled Barry followed by him fucking up the timeline in Flashpoint. Then the New 52 effectively erased Wally and the Flash family, which only led to more (justified) complaints.I don't know how anyone can hate Barry, but I do prefer Wally.
Flash Rebirth is where a lot of the hate came from, and it only go worse after it.Of course, it didn't help that Flash: Rebirth massively shilled Barry followed by him fucking up the timeline in Flashpoint.
