Is it just me, or is every dude working in comics coming out as bi?

I honestly think it's just a ploy to cover their asses against the Woke Shits who would love nothing better than to get white men nuked so they can install one of their POCLGBTIAFBINCISYMCA friends who can't write or draw for shit.
I had this thought when Morrison decided that his pronouns are they/them. At around same time his last GL issues were coming out and some of them had bits that could easily be seen as taking shots at diversity. And from what I saw nobody complained.

Either way I guess it also helps in TV/Film world.

I think making Tim bi more or less is fine. It'd be interesting if one of the Robins was, it can't be Dick since he's kind of a famous ladies man and it can't be Damian since he's 13. That only leaves Tim or Jason and Jason has been in limbo for almost the past fucking decade, DC seems to have no idea what to do with him, so I doubt they'd even know where to start with adding that in.

Which leaves Tim as the only likely candidate. My only problem with making Tim bi is that he has been in a committed relationship with Stephanie Brown for almost as long as he has existed. If they allowed that relationship to end naturally have Tim pursue a male lover, that's fine. But having them be together one issue then literally broken up the next doesn't work. It's fucking stupid.

Also for the "Tim has been straight for 20 years so he has to stay straight"

Constantine was straight for many years after he was made, his bisexuality was only introduced later and is now a part of his character that many people, myself included, seem to enjoy.

This isn't like Alan Scott who was married for 40 years and had kids deciding he doesn't like pussy anymore. From my recollection Tim has really only ever been with Stephanie, so it's not that absurd.

I'd be up for it if they could do it properly, but you know how unlikely that is.

Making Jason bi would be an interesting idea, especially since there's sort of wiggle room to write shit in between his "death" and his comeback as the Red Hood.

making any OG JSA member into a faggot doesn't really work. I think there's a possibility of them making some more unknown golden ager and retconning them into some sort of LGB person could work. Or maybe retcon a new one in the same way roy thomas just whipped up Amazing Man for his All Star Squadron stuff as a '40s era black superhero.

Hell, wasn't there some Gotham based comic recently with Killer Croc and some other monster protags teaming up against the Sheeda? There was that ghost or w/e that was a homo in the '20s. Idk why I remember this, but it wasn't a bad idea and they didn't hamfist introducing that character.

Gotham City Monsters. I should actually read that.

like I said I think a Robin being LGB would be nice but the only viable ones are Jason or Tim and DC just doesn't give a shit about Jason. People complain about their treatment of Tim, but Tim got his own solo series. Tim was a member of the Teen Titans, Tim was a main player in Detective Comics for Tynion's run.

Jason got beat to death with a crowbar and was dead for 19 years, then came back and was written by the same guy for near a decade that varied between pretty ok to fucking garbage.

The best treatment Jason has gotten in 10 fucking years is Batman: Urban Legends right now.

So while I'd be all for Jason being the candidate for this, DC does not give a shit to do that with him. They don't give a shit to do seemingly anything with him.

your recollection is wrong...

He was with Cassandra Sandsmark, Ariana, and in at least one future Cass Cain.

Not everything needs that. Besides which, there's a ton of gay this and bi that in Gotham. Tynion and Snyder have gay characters. They just want to take Tim Drake. Fuck em.

He's always been curious after the Joker beat him. Now he knows why...

I am aware of these women. Did any of them last half as long as Stephanie? Ariana was the black one from his high school, what'd they last? like a month? As far as I know Stephanie is the only one that has ever mattered, hence my saying "ever really been with"

me leavin' the T off LGB wasn't a typo or a mistake.

I'm not saying everything needs it. I said it'd be nice. Yeah there are lots of gays running around Gotham, but none of them are Robins, which was the point.

I don't care if they use Tim or Jason for it or if they make a new Robin, but as far as likely candidates go, as the current situation is, Tim is the best candidate.

though personally I'd probably prefer Jason, since I like him more.

Ariana was for several years and was Eastern European.

I'm not saying everything needs it. I said it'd be nice. Yeah there are lots of gays running around Gotham, but none of them are Robins, which was the point.

Welp. I'd prefer none of the above. I don't go to Batman for that. Not my thing. But they're just going to force it everywhere and keep turning straight characters gay.

Sure, me and people like me have fucked off as customers. But things seem fine. Its not as if one fucking manga outsells the comic industry. Care to guess how many Bi dudes are in Demon Slayer?

was Eastern European

i just remember her bein' a darkie for some reason.

Welp. I'd prefer none of the above. I don't go to Batman for that. Not my thing. But they're just going to force it everywhere and keep turning straight characters gay.

there isn't anything wrong with representation, if you get furious over the existence of the ragin' homo's that's more a you problem.

"Turning straight characters gay" also presumes the existence of sexuality on fictional fucking characters. I have some shocking news for you, Tim isn't straight. He's not fucking real.

Now as I stated "changing" character sexuality can be done well, like with Constantine, or it can be done poorly, like Bobby Drake and Alan Scott. For Tim right now I feel it's being done poorly, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad idea to begin with.

Sure, me and people like me have fucked off as customers. But things seem fine. Its not as if one fucking manga outsells the comic industry. Care to guess how many Bi dudes are in Demon Slayer?

This is a false equivalency. Demon Slayer has 150 million sales from what I'm seeing.

Batman alone has 460 million and I'm not even sure if that's just the main "Batman" comic or the entire Batman line.

You are comparing a recent manga to any recent Batman comic, sure, that's fine. but Batman isn't a recent comic. he's a nearly 100 year old character with 100 years worth of comic sales. Comparing any manga sales to say, Tynion's run on Detective Comics is disingenuous at best and just stupid at worst.

if you want to pick a manga franchise and pit it against the big boys of comics, go for Dragon Ball or an actual heavy hitter, though according to these values infront of me Batman beats Dragon Ball as well, so, there's that I guess.

last part of your sentence also acts like it's the LGB shit that sells the comic, it's not. Representation can just be nice is all.

i just remember her bein' a darkie for some reason.

Who said anything about furious. But nothing wrong with representation my ass.

Neither was Hush. That's disingenuous.

Yes. It does. Be creative and make your own shit.

This is a false equivalency. Demon Slayer has 150 million sales from what I'm seeing.

Sure, Sure. :story:

Batman alone has 460 million and I'm not even sure if that's just the main "Batman" comic or the entire Batman line.

? In what universe does the any single batman floppy sell 460 million?

You are comparing a recent manga to any recent Batman comic, sure, that's fine. but Batman isn't a recent comic.

Pretty sure it is.

he's a nearly 100 year old character with 100 years worth of comic sales. Comparing any manga sales to say, Tynion's run on Detective Comics is disingenuous at best and just stupid at worst.

And now we're name calling. You sound triggered. You used representation and claimed I was 'furious'. You pulled the 'it's not real, bro.'

You're using text book SJW lines. Quoting bullshit numbers. The Batman books don't sell a million copies fuckwit.

last part of your sentence also acts like it's the LGB shit that sells the comic, it's not. Representation can just be nice is all.

LGBshit, Capeshit. You say shit allot.

There's an improbable number of gay fucking shit (there have fun) in comics. I'm at the point were I'm sick of it. This isn't about representation and I think you fucking know that.

The Batman books don't sell a million copies fuckwit.

The entirety of "Batman" has sold 460 million copies according to the numbers I was seeing. Do you have opposing numbers?

Sure, Sure.

do you have opposing numbers or just dismissal?

And now we're name calling. You sound triggered.

I didn't call you anything. Did I say you were stupid? I said that position was stupid, at worst, and disingenuous at best. If I was an SJW wouldn't I just call you homophobic and be done with it?

Quoting bullshit numbers.

proof?

In what universe does the any single batman floppy sell 460 million?

This one? Read what I said.

"Batman alone has 460 million and I'm not even sure if that's just the main "Batman" comic or the entire Batman line"

I said "Batman" do you know what the "Batman" comics are?

The initial "Batman" comic has 714 issues and that's just that one line. I said in that very sentence I am unsure if that is just the "Batman" comic, being the comic line called "Batman" about the character Batman, or if it is the entire comic IP of Batman, being Batman, Batman and the Outsiders, Detective Comics, so on and so on.

You are comparing two different games to each other and saying one is winning. Does Demon Slayer outsell any SINGLE Batman comic going on RIGHT NOW? Absolutely. But comics don't work that way, Batman is a centaury year old character with centauries of sales. Overall Batman has sold significantly more than Demon Slayer, which is why your comparison is disingenuous, does that make sense?

Or do you honestly believe that Demon Slayer, a relatively new manga, has made more money than one of the most famous and popular comic book characters to ever exist?

Neither was Hush. That's disingenuous.

I literally don't understand what you mean. Is Hush bisexual?

Yes. It does. Be creative and make your own shit.

No, it doesn't. But I do agree that the best alternative is to make your own things, the only reason I am against that in this situation is because we're already at fucking 4 Robins, we don't need another one right now.

Who said anything about furious

You're right, we're on a website that documents literal insane people. I shouldn't have used hyperbole, that was going too far.

But nothing wrong with representation my ass.

It depends on the representation and how it is done. If it is done naturally, then it is fine. The problem is DC doesn't do it naturally, as they're doing with Tim and as they did with Alan Scott.

Pretty sure it is.

It's not. You are misunderstanding my words, I hope this post cleared up for you what I meant.

You got any other questions you need me to clear up for ya?

they're probably all bi

i mean, lore wise, they're supposed to kidnap men to breed with and toss the male kids off the island.

wonder what that one story about DIana's long lost brother went to? it even dragged Glaucus from greek myth as a low end immortal who trained the lad.

Wat

Constantine was straight for many years after he was made, his bisexuality was only introduced later and is now a part of his character that many people, myself included, seem to enjoy.

Being 'enjoyably bi' didn't seem to save his neck from the DC chopping block.
