"MJ" is one of my few issues with Homecoming/MCU Spider-Man as well.

I have nothing against Zendaya, or the way she approached her role (as she was essentially the "Basket Case" from The Breakfast Club, which worked and was really funny), but MJ? Nah. She ain't MJ.

At the very least, would it have killed the filmmakers to dye her hair red? Forget about skin color; Mary Jane's #1 physical trait is her red hair-- no question. To me, that's like people trying to sell me a Superman who isn't wearing a cape.

Granted, Zendaya isn't "Mary Jane." Her first name is Michelle. She's Michelle Jane. Why not just make her her own character instead of slapping the MJ label on her then? It kind of comes across as bad fanfiction to name her MJ (I guarantee that was one of the decisions that Sony forced on Marvel).

I really adored Homecoming, but the movie isn't without its faults. I'm just going to pretend that they never called her MJ and that they keep saying "Michelle" instead. I like Michelle ... But I have to admit that I like her less knowing that the MCU is trying to pass her off as an "MJ."

My guess is that this is either a prequel to IW or that this takes place in a timeline where IW never happened

It'd be a little odd for the world to be so fine after a literal fucking apocalypse

I dunno we'll see in April

It's a rewritten timeline where they prevent the snap. So it's the latter. Tony still dies I guess though.
 
:optimistic: I was hoping to see Spider-man and Venom stop Team Carnage’s killing spree around New York. Would be a great opportunity to introduce Cloak and Dagger. :optimistic:

Looks like it will only be with Venom, and that movie sucked. :(

However, knowing Mysterio’s gimmick, I wonder how he will betray Spider-Man. Mildly interested.

My hypothesis: Mysterio is trying to upstage Spidey by creating illusions of giants attacking Britain. Then he frames him for something, and wants to effectively control the UK or something.

I don't actually mind black MJ as a character at all. She's reasonably amusing. She's just not MJ, so why call her MJ? It's dumb.

Also it’s interesting that Aunt May knows about her nephew being Spider-Man which makes me interested because that possibility was never really shown in the movies before, mainly the comics.

Raimi's Aunt May clearly knew that Peter was Spiderman by at least the middle of Spiderman 2.

I love how some media sites are saying that casting trans extras is the next biggest thing in movies and will change the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. Settle down folks, this isn't the second coming of Christ. They're just extras and their scenes may just be removed from the final films or they're on screen for literally seconds.

Flash's coloring wasn't a major part of his character design, and this Flash is otherwise similar to the original counterpart via being a douche that runs fast.

Seems like they are going with time travel in Endgame and this is the new time line where infinity War was ended a lot sooner
