Spiders Are a Popular Video Game Monster. They're Also an Accessibility Problem

Maybe, just maybe, people have to accept that not every book/movie/tv show/game will be able to tiptoe around their highly individualized triggers or be completely accessible to them. Motherfuckers need to also accept that some creators are not interested in catering to as wide an audience as possible. Gravity’s Rainbow, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Twin Peaks, and Super Meat Boy were not designed to be challenging. Spiders is just the latest target in muh accessibility. Next year, Klepek will write an article about the word “moist” being problematic.

It's funny, when people list words they absolutely hate both "moist" and "panties" come close to the top, but the phrase "moist panties" gives me a stiffie.

I don't know, the spider crabs in Legend of Grimrock can go fuck themselves.
My first run in with one was 4 minutes of unbearable tension as I heard it scuttling around followed by me turning a corner to see it lunging at my face. Almost chucked my iPad into the air out of terror
I'm terrified of spiders but only them and the System Shock 2 fuckers got me. I think its cause most of the time they are made so large its almost comical and it becomees unrealistic (like Skyrim)
