now that splatoon 3 is playable in some capacity may as well get a 3-specific thread open.
sharing any and all autistic findings via the in-game posts is encouraged. by me.

here's your daily doses of autism and femcel now that the fest (rigged) is over.
it won't let me change the thread description :(
i just realized that because people thought shiver was nonbinary because she didnt act or look stereotypically and exaggeratedly feminine and didn't have her fuckin bazoinker boobas directly exposed, they are indirectly stating that not exposing your tits and acting traditionally feminine makes you less of a woman

I don't know if it was because it was free and Nintendo is dumb and never prepares enough servers for free games but I had a lot of the same discontinue issues as I did in 2. I didn't get any mid match DCs which is a noticeable improvement but I got a lot of queueing back up with the team I just played with and it just disconnecting me after like 10 seconds or when I was searching for a match it would give me the same server error after like a minute and make me start the search again.

I do really love that you get to futz around in the training room while you search for a match and that if you are with a team you can see them in there too and squid party together when you win. It is a massive improvement over 1's silly jump game and 2's spinning the sticks for 3 minutes while you wait for your friend's match then to make noises.

splatoon servers during the testfire and splatfests in general have always been shit, i got a good amount too but at least it doesn't keep the battle going when someone DCs early on, thank god

i kind of miss making the music goofy but yeah the lobby room is a huge improvement. it's fun to dick around and squidbag with your holo-team.

The Tenta Brella feels amazing to use and is much taller now. i had issues from the last game where someone threw a bomb on the top and it killed me instantly.

The tri colour part of the fest was great. Any opinons on the new weapons and specials?

I kind of hate the soda machine. Even if I throw it into a group of my allies at best maybe one will wander over to take a sip. Plus the buff seems negligible compared to Ink Armor that it is replacing.

Also I don't know if it was lag or what but the shark slide's hit box seems way farther out than the animation is. I had several times where I was outside of its visual and inking effect but was still instant killed.

The beacon bubble shield thing is pretty good though. I had so many people just let themselves get killed when I put it down because they were scared to just charge straight into it like you are supposed to. I just wish it could block the new killer wail.

Can't wait for Marina Skincolor Discourse 2: The Return of Jafar, either way I'm excited for the full game. What weapons do you main? I main the Heavy Splatling.

From what I remember from playing the splatfest, attacking the crab tank itself just makes it run out faster. You have to hit the pilot directly to kill; it was easiest for me when using a blaster.
Also a significant weakness of the crab tank is that it has limited turning speed, so flanking or quickly circling around can help you beat it.

New weapons and specials are cool. Tri color is gay and needs some serious rebalancing. Ultra signals prematurely decided the game most of the time and ironically enough the team of 4 is at a huge disadvantage having to hold 2 fronts. I genuinely felt bad for team scissors despite being on team rock. They almost never won in the dozens of matches I played in with my friend.

The only time I won as Team Scissors was if someone used a Zipcaster to get into enemy territory within the last minute. I mostly main Dualies, and the ones in this demo came with the Crab Tank. I must admit, it moves slowly (maybe too slowly) and it takes a few seconds to rev up to rapid-fire shooting. Probably not too viable competitively. I'm thinking the S-tires specials are probably gonna be the Trizooka, the Reefslider, and the Tacticooler. Seriously, the buff from the Tacticooler is crazy good; you have a one-second respawn and you don't lose your Special if you had it when you died.

I'm looking forward to more Splatoon. It's the only shooter that's really grabbed me because of the whole unique mechanic behind swimming through ink. Feels like it gives your chosen weapon more tactical purpose besides taking out enemy platers. The art style is also one of my favorites. I don't know what the term is to describe Splatoon, Jet Set Radio, and The World Ends With You, but what ever that style is, it's one of my favorites.

The tacticooler is definitely more useful when in a VC. I would let my teammates know when I popped it and would place it where they can easily reach it. Solo though... Is still not friendly to support kits.

I couldn't quite get the feel for the big bubbler, It didn't feel like it was protecting me thoroughly. Then again, it felt like my kill time was doubled compared to 2. Hoping that gets fixed with patching and actual chunks.
shout out to Nintendo for nullifying the splatfest tee's ability, making it useless.

I only won a Tricolor match ONCE and that was because Rock and Paper were so inept they only got the Ultra Signal within the last 10 seconds, after we had dispersed to thoroughly ink the map. Every other time it was ridiculous unfair, even when one of the other teams would be useless and basically standing around.

Shoutout to the two Korn idiots though, friends with matching names that just stood around during their Tricolor match barely doing anything at all.

after going back to s2 to get my level up i've realized just how painful it is compared to 3. the controls are so much clunkier and the maps are so narrow, which makes it really easy for the enemy team to bully yours into spawn

I had a fun time. I'm looking forward to it. Though I wonder if they'll force you to play turf wars for a long time to play the other modes.

Though it does suck having to pay for P2P dodgy online. Wasn't impressed with that aspect of the premiere. I don't play anything else online on switch.

They confirmed that if you have a 2 saved game you get to skip the wait to play Ranked and get special unlock any weapon you want tickets from day 1.
very swag. it's why i've been playing s2 again, to get my level a little closer to the 50 i had before my save data got fucked.
speaking of which apparently s3 will have cloud save support which is CUMWORTHY if true.

Do you think Splatoon 2 is likely to become a ghost town or will people still be playing it too?

This is one reason why I never get into multiplayer much, I hate playing anything with an expiration date.

Not until Splatoon 4 launches on Nintendo's next big console after the Switch I wager, which is a looooooooong ways off from here. They got 4yrs out of 2 before they laid out the last Splatfest and made moves to establish 3, I'd expect a similar pace for 3 since the Switch is still going strong.
