Why did they pick Kamela as a name? First thing I think of is our current Vice President. As a whole, she is uninteresting.

Guardians, but I'm mixing it in with the great SquareEnix Marvel Universe

So glad we got this instead of more Deus Ex, right guys?
the cope on the reviews of the Guardians games

"Its such a fantastic narrative driven game! The exploring is amazing! It's a bit linear and the combat is repetitive that consists of you ordering the guardians to do the same things to the same enemies...the puzzles are the same everywhere you go. 9/10"

Reminder that the head writer for the Guardians game also created this:

Deus Ex is dead because Square Enix had high aspirations for it yet Mankind Divided bombed, killing the multi-media franchise they wanted.

If Eidos wasn't working on crappy Marvel games then Square Enix would likely have them working on some other shitty trend-chasing game and still not the next Deus Ex.

yeah I think Spidey would have been the perfect MC. Peter ofc, but Miles woulda been alright.
Or maybe do like the DC MMO and allow the player to make your own superhero? I mean even Lego Supervillains did it so I don't see why not, i mean seems to me allowing the player to make their own could improve the length the people play to try different things?
All I know is they fucked up making her the main character, she doesn't have anything besides her powers while (three examples of characters with similar abilities) Reed Richard's is a genius, Luffy has a near or practically unbreakable willpower and Plastic Man is a fun guy even if he didn't have his abily, even among others with her ability she is literally nothing but her powers and that's boring

Deus Ex is dead, They killed it with their shitty pre order bullshit and inept management.
On the other hand they can't rape the franchise if it's dead

if they wanted to have her being a sort of superhero groupie/fangirl-turned superhero, then they really would have been better off doing a better adaptation of the comics and have thrown in a shitload of heroes.

like, fuckit, get all the Avengers you can get. Have her sperg. Write her as a genuine nerd.

Her power set is interesting but it really relies on visuals or ingenuity.

Hard to improve on a character that has been shit for most of her existence, she was not too bad I heard in her first few issues but since then she keeps being either in crossover/team books, has terrible writers or both
The character never stood a change to develop organically

i think she's always had potential but the issue's more that they never really fleshed her out.

I mean, considering everything with the Champions or other current young heroes at Marvel, they all at least have a recognizable villain.

Miles has the Ultimate Goblin, or maybe his uncle iirc. He's a Spider, so there's a wide rogues gallery.

Nova has the tiger alien that chased him around for his helmet. He's also had the Chitauri and other assorted cosmic baddies. Kid's put his ass on the line with racing against the Phoenix Force and holding the line in the AXIS event against Kluh (The Hulk's hulk)

Amadeus Cho had a lot of time to develop and has more or less settled as a solid C/B-lister. I do wish they'd cover him better though.

Hell, you could argue that Viv Vision and Nadia Pym are interconnected with the whole mess of Pym-Ultron villains and lore.

What does that leave Ms. Marvel, the character they keep pushing?

Nowhere. Weirdly enough, I don't recall Carol Danvers getting anything notable in the past decade either. You can tell a quality of a superhero based on their cast, rogues gallery, and memorable moments.

I don't remember much of Kamala, sadly. It sucks because there's potential for something fun as she's basically a dorky and nice girl that's a major superhero fan. They had a lot of potential in trying to explore the Inhumans push, but they also never really properly explored the Inhumans outside of trying to replicate the X-Men. Which is really difficult to do with them as the Inhumans already have an existing culture that's spread throughout the globe. They're also susceptible to pollution and the terrigen mists work differently from M-gene activation.

It sucks because in the hands of a competent writer, Kamala's exploration of the insular and hidden Inhumans culture alongside realizing the harshness of the real world could have been a great backdrop. Instead we keep getting "yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssss kweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen slayyyyy" stuff.

come to think of it, why didn't Marvel just play it straightforward with the Inhumans instead of trying to do the X-Men all over again. I feel like they were trying to tie cosmic marvel and Avengers marvel together with the Inhumans, but it never worked out for them.

These characters are only popular because of the movies, nobody gives a fuck about these second-rate stunt doubles.
This is too true, when the movies came out many wanted to check out the comics. Only for the comics to be another entirely different beast. There's way too many differences between both.
