To be fair it's like this in every Marvel game. Marvel Future Fight, Marvel Heroes Omega/2016, etc. A Kate Bishop skin always comes out for Hawkeye just to dunk on him. Honestly I think Hawkeye sucks and just is a vector for me to enjoy Pizza Dog, who is incredibly based.

Seeing how badly received this game is overall, and contrasting it with how amazing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 was last year is amazing. It gives me hope for shit like Star Wars, because it really is just an unfortunate case of a great IP being in the wrong stupid hands.

God...Hawkeye and Star Lord are so much better in the comics. They're funnier, hotter, and more well rounded than the boring bland characters in the films.

How was Mankind Divided once you got past the story being kinda bleh? It came out right as I was about to upgrade my PC, so it kinda fell by the wayside compared to stuff that was better optimized.

Mankind Divided is my Personal Favorite of the Two. Dont get me Wrong Human Revolution is a gold standard and a Revolutionary title but Mankind divided took some serious risks.

(Specifically their use of microtransactions as social commentary by including them, this was an insanely bold move that they knew could backfire in a single player game. It surprised me to hear but it was the devs not the publisher who wanted them. Given Deus Ex was always social commentary. TLDR they put in microtransactions to portray them as an almost future dystopian greed.)

Mankind Divided was the first time in a game where I truly felt like a True Neutral party. Do I simply preform my job or make a statement? Do I help this person or kill them? Do I destroy pragues corrupt police or side with them out of law? Do I abuse Jensens "Orange Clearance"? (in universe this means the job may be done by any means necessary up to and including terrorism.)

It REALLY made me happy to know that the Sarif ending was the Canon HR ending, that guy was a total fucking bro for a CEO.

All and all it disappoints me the studio behind ADAM FUCKING JENSEN was either forced or decided on their own whim to make an avengers game.

It doesn't work because unlike Diana, she doesn't have the skill level or experience to be that level of showing strength. At best, Danvers is an upper-mid tier bruiser with conditional cosmic level powers.

honestly, they had a good idea when she decided to pick up the mantle, but no one wants to write her with nuance and complexity.

She picked up the mantle after AvX because Mar-Vell got resurrected again, and then the dude decides to willingly sacrifice himself again like a damn hero. It's honestly a damn shame that Marvel does not know how to handle legacy heroes too well because that could have been a legitimately great A-List hero if they just had a competent writer that didn't flanderize her into muh strong wimminz trope.

Hell, fucking Jane Foster as Thor was an excellent fucking example of how to reinvent a classic marvel hero and give them a legacy to pick up. She had cancer and every time she used the hammer to turn into Thor, it'd undo all the treatments she'd get (even magic and super-sciencey ones).

In the end, she was a satisfying heroine to read. Carole? Not so much because they kinda just kneecapped her character and expected her to be a bigshot. Civil War II had a pretty good edition of this character being an authoritarian fuckwit when she got outplayed and outclassed by Stark and Co. Her response? Beat Stark into a coma because she mad.

God if Marvel ever decides to pull an "Injustice Superman" type thing, Danvers is going to be goosestepping.

The funny thing is this game appeals to me on a basic level - leveling, crafting, combat challenges to grind and so on, but none of the gameplay footage I've seen has stirred any feelings. Just like Anthem I'm not even finding it bad, just...dull.
