Dawn of War 2 is absolutely fucking horrible and supremely unfun to play. It tries to add in some CoH features and it ends up gutting the core gameplay that made the first one fun. Speaking of which, still pissed that Dawn of War never got that planned Tyranid expansion.
I enjoy the Campaign for base and first expansion, I think they tried to do too much in the Retribution campaign and made it all feel underwhelming.
Campaign is great, multiplayer sucks absolute fucking ass(aside from Last Stand).

The Elite mod balances the game out better, but it's still a fundamentally different game from DoW1 and appeals to wholly different audiences. I like it with Elite a bit because it has a very grindy style of play, whereas if you got good at DoW you'd quickly learn the effective strats most races had to end games pretty quickly.
