I know everyone's focused on the Starfleet Academy trailer, but we also got a teaser for Strange New Worlds' fourth season.

It's, and I swear I'm not making this up, going to have a Muppet episode.

I'm not even angry, just confused. What was the thought process behind this?

I wonder if we'll also have a stop motion Christmas themed episode.....

That comment about the show being treated like a sitcom is kind of true at times.
These posts made me realize something, SNW is Community in Space. They had a DnD episode first season, the musical episode, and now a muppet episode? SNW is Abed and Troy playing Star Trek in the Dreamatorium.

TNG comics had a Christmas special
well worth a look
weird art (pretty sure pre-Penders), goofy premise, amazingly lolwat punchlines, one sorta ruined by the cover
full comic

In an upcoming episode, Pelia* will start them skimming chicken fingers from the mess hall before a season finale of paintball.

It's like they just gave up and started googling “sub-Whedon TV moments to copy.” There's the one where they all sing about their feelings. Then in this episode they literally get turned into fucking Muppets.

If it ends up being a crossover with Pigs in Space, it'll all be worth it
Goldsman and Myers got irradiated by the Dummo Ray.

Fun fact: in the book, Gandalf spent a whole year

yeah there's a few "then a year or few passed" snipped in the movies

Bilbo's 111th birthday party was also Frodo's 33rd birthday, and Gandalf didn't return until Frodo turned 50! 🥳 It takes a long time to get to Gondor from the Shire, and Gandalf would have taken a few years longer if he hadn't stolen Shadowfax.

There you go gentlemen.

Oh god I just watched the Trelane/Q epsiode of SNW. That has to be one of the most pointless filler episodes I've ever seen of any TV Show. John De Lancie shows up as Q in energy ball form to stop his son Trelane/Q from the shenanigans he's pulling on the Enterprise crew. Which boiled down to Christine Chappell's new bf messing around with something on a planet that he particularly liked. Ok none of this makes sense especially from a lore standpoint. Oh, they play Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham at the end.
🙄, :stress:, :story:

Wait, what?
Q sends them back in time to 2020s America and the lady doctor one of the guys is hitting on tells her son to go watch Rick and Morty. There's also Doritos in a vending machine in the background so Cool Ranch is a canonical flavor in Star Trek.

it's like an onion, but each layer is a new thing to hate

People talk about Terry Matalas's greatness, but no one has explained how he tard wrangled Patrick Stewart. Was the ultimatum "accept these changes or they'll be no show?" He's 80 years old and a prima donna. Threaten his wife in some way? He's had like 5 wives already, so he sees them as replaceable.
