More on topic, the more I watch and think about ST:E the more I enjoy it.
ST:E has a divisive nature within the fanbase as we all know, I infact decided to test the waters by posting a topic on Reddit (Yeah I know, but stay with me) asking people why it didn't do so well, I thought it was mainly due to the weird CGI (Because to me, it looks worse than TNG/DS9/VOY when using it) and was fairly sure it was due to the low-tech angle.
So many people replied, I got hundreds within days and mainly it could be boiled down to;
1. Too many over-sexualised scenes visa vi the Decon chamber.. Which I guess? They did labour those scenes quite a bit and it was to show men rubbing jelly on themselves then on half nude mid-chicks.
2. The Intro song (Yea, seriously, this came up A LOT) which I also SEMI agree on, at first I was so turned off by the song, but when I stick with the show and it's intro I actually got so into it I kept finding myself singing it in VCs and IRL with other trek fans. I think it gave Enterprise a real "Human" vibe which the show tries to angle into way more than other ones
3. The Time period - It seems many of those who watched didn't like it being set in the era it was, with many outright complaining we should've had more post-VOY content which I remember was something I felt when I was a teenager first watching the episodes air. I cannot reconcile with this being a legit reason though since R/Star Trek is home to many faggots creaming their panties over how good Disco "Actually was" and how great Kelvin stuff is which seems to me, if you really hate Enterprise for this why wouldn't you despise Kelvin/Kurtzman trek?
I personally, for my part, got to about Season 3 of Enterprise about a month ago, The change in the intro song was super weird to me (As I don't get WHY they did, the first 2 seasons had the best version, the new one sounds so much like noise to me) but I have enjoyed the stories being put out.. I just have to admit I'm not enthralled by the over-arching time-travel story, I think it kind of makes Jonathon Archer "Way more important" than he already is, which feels like too much glazing for me. I much prefer getting to see the tensions between Andoria, Earth and Vulcan, the way Archer handles situations with a very single-minded bullheadedness where he really does let his moral compass takeover anything he's doing.
