So, one is a Trill that I'm guessing wants its body to resemble what its symbiont predominantly was? Alien.
The other? Dunno with a name like "Adira". Sounds like a Trek alien name. So again, "Hey look, transgender representation... in alien species where those things might have been accepted".

Well, he fucked Ro Laren, so he might have done both of those things.

Trills and the J'naii are not trans because for them it is an actual biological reality and not a mental illness.

Wasn't there an entire episode about a nonbinary planet?

Oh yeah, that's right, nothing matters except for Present Day and Actual Trannies.
Star trek is deader than an actual tranny dick
I'm sure this has been said before by other people, but the only people I know who actually liked STD have never actually been fans of Trek or watched it.
That pretty much sums up everything about woke new new hollywood. Don't give a shit about the people who actually care about our product just pander to idiots who waste money on BLM clothing and bail after getting arrested at protests.

This is where I wish i could find that web comic about a girl talking about this great new character she's making going on and on about all these minority features they have and her friend goes "what's their personality?"

"Their what?"

(Seriously I hate trying to find webcomics sometimes.)

I hope this makes me one of the good meatbags.

That was a weird episode (maybe not as weird as that Scottish planet where Beverly fucked a ghost, but still)

I think it was meant to be a heavy handed social commentary about the gays or whatever, but I think the real lesson is that Riker could've cured that planet of genderspecials with his meat phaser.

The episode was actually good and it was handled it subtly enough to cover any issue about how society sometimes consider different people as "ill" or "defective", with lgbts being the most obvious example of the time.

In context, the species had evolved beyond gender, so for them, yes, it was considered an oddity that someone felt more like either a man or a woman.

Now, of course, the lgbs of the time got mad that it wasnt' more in-your-face because these assholes have always been about "me-me-me-and-only-me" narrative.

It made no sense how Riker wanted to do sex to this person. She wasn't even funny:

I get that Riker would probably bang a knothole in a wooden fence, but he could do better than Veiny McBowlcut here. The Enterprise was full of impressionable young ensigns in tight spandex.

I don't think even Geordi or Barclay would've gone there. Maybe Riker's dad had a point when he wanted to beat him up.
