Probably why so many on this forum have a hard on for them.

It didn't escape my notice that Plinkett criticized the Dominion War, only to come around to DS9 once something darker came along. Such is the nature of gatekeeping.
Being a tastemaker is a heady and often corrupting experience.

CyrilSneer is just a little buttblasted, cause he blames the crushing dislike for the SW prequels solely on the Plinkett review and not on the shoddy screenwriting and atrocious characters/acting of the prequels themselves.
RLM partisan accuses critic of being buttblasted, pot calls kettle black. Frankly, Shatner was right to disdain those goons.

According to some TOS novel, arsenic is an essential vitamin for Klingons.
TOS novels are a weird rabbit-hole to go down. You end up encountering all sorts of strange things, like the "Vegan Tyranny," which references James Blish's Cities in Flight novels, which inspired the album cover-art for the band Boston. 🤔

There's only one fly in the soup: I'm not much of a fan of RLM and I dislike the Plinkett videos, cause "talking like an asshole" isn't something I particularly enjoy. That accusation does go hand in hand with your dislike for RLM, though. In your funny world, RLM somehow managed to brainwash people into hating a good movie, glowing with qualities only you can see. Your first accusation in my direction was that my opinions towards the prequels were taken from Plinkett's review when these opinions predate me even knowing that RLM exists by at least a decade.

Well then, perhaps we can have a civil discussion about the relative merits of the Prequel Trilogy vs. the validity (or lack thereof) of RLM's take on the series sometime.

Hey, if there's one thing I've learned over the past year or so, it's to never under-estimate how easily people can be brainwashed by the voices on the talk-box.

TOS had some well-behaved cats. Isis stole the show in "Assignment: Earth."

All Spot had to do is act like a cat normally would.

Well, not all of the TOS kitties were quite so well-behaved. 😉

Look the prequel trilogy is very poorly executed.

I won't say it's all bad. SFDebris' making of video essays gave me some new appreciation for all the effort and aims of them, but it still doesn't change the many narrative flaws. (Like the first film having "we must get to coruscant" being the entire driving force of everything... for only the first half and then having a drastic swerve. It would work in a film serial - doesn't work in a movie.)

All of the black cats on TOS turned into women.

Makes one start wonder if there was a fetish someone was working out...

Wait a damn minute!

It's very common to see posts and comments like "thank you for helping me in dark times", implying that fans rely on influencers to maintain their mental health.

E-celebs connect with people in a way few people do. Biden doesn't have half of the reach that YT, Twitch, and Insta do. It's very common to see posts and comments like "thank you for helping me in dark times", implying that fans rely on influencers to maintain their mental health.
Gee it's almost like if you isolate a social animal for long periods of time it will seek out substitutes...

Harry Potter did a better job with rising fascism, which is a huge indictment of Star Wars.

I, too, am guilty of creeping at e-celebs in bars.

Kate Pulaski is technically a better doctor than Crusher.

Pulaski had several show-breaking abilities like being able to erase selective parts of people's memories, and also has the skills to fix Geordi's eyes. Crusher couldn't do these things.
She had to do open heart surgery on Picard to save his life after the "experts" couldn't.

Despite her not being a lead character, you might be able to say Pulaski was a very early Mary-Sue.

You know how in "Where No One Has Gone Before", they make a brief stop in Triangulum before going to the magic blue place (where thought gets real)?

I tried to recreate that scene in Triangulum using SpaceEngine (0.98). This could be how it would look IRL.

(spiral in background is Andromeda)
So way wasn't Andromeda considered a official star trek show again?

Series has effectively been on hiatus since the end of enterprise, especially since JJ faggots tried to reboot.

Too much nigger pandering and faggotry in their characters and writing and their anime-tier and generic sci fi designs should be a criminal offense for lumping them into the same boat as the Original Enterprise Refit (ew no fuck the original PVC marshmellow shooter pipe design).

The fans still got it at least. Wish they'd make something else besides yet another version of the Connie and stop trying to suck Kirk's dick. Its a big enough Universe that he doesnt have to get the Disney "Darth Vader Omnipotence" treatment.

Hold up, what's this? Every time I've heard them talk DS9 it's been neutral at best.
I don't recall DS9 coming up in the old TNG movie Plinkett reviews (it's been ages since I watched them last), but Mike's mentioned watching DS9 again in the more recent TNG re:View videos. Seems like the absolute failures of STD and Picard have made him a bit more positive towards it, though I don't think he's ever stated outright hating the show. Maybe in a sense of "this ain't like my TOS," but I never got the sense he actively disliked it.
