I really wish Section 31 was left in DS9 'cause they brought them back in Discovery (which I don't consider canon) and in the spin off books and went off on some pretty wild tangents i.e. something about the AI controlling the entire federation and orchestrating large scale events in the alpha quadrant or some such bullshit like that. Bill Sadler played Sloan really well, but I think the concept was just a one trick pony.
Section 31 was also in Enteprise but it was portrayed the same way as in DS9.

Oh ya I completely forgot about that story arc it was something about the augments, right? Then Uncle Phil shows up as the Klingon General and Archer gets injected with the virus to save some colony or something? Ya pretty forgettable like most of Enterprise.

Dukat Legit works amazingly if you consider him a guy who genuinely wants and think's he's doing the right thing up until he goes insane. He's also got the kirk ego, but he's let it overcome his common sense, and he doesn't have a spock or bones to keep him in line He's only got yes man Damar.

Char is the only other character I can think of with an arc that even comes close to being as good. Dukat is so much better though because it actually shows what made him decide genocide was the answer. Char just kinda becomes evil after an offscreen period of time

iirc Char gets a bit of a handwave from one of the videogames that it was Kamille getting derped that set him off
but yeah Dukat has good background from Bajorans really being fucking awful people, then that thing happens with his daughter, than Sisko decides the best way to kill time while waiting for rescue is to poke Dukat with a stick just to set him off even further

they also have the problem with Dukat that the Bajorans really end up being a pile of backwards goddamn savages every time they get the chance, cowering at the special effects smoke monster that Obrien stops, getting into wars over some crappy stream, all their religious infighting, that time Ye Olde Emissary showed up and they started chucking each other off bridges because MUH CASTE.
I'm not sure if the writers were really brilliant at shades of grey or just didn't really think things through
'ate them cardies

There's some novels and/or mangas that technically covered what Char was doing during Double Zeta and why he gone all rocks fall, people die prior to Char's Counterattack. But afaik those books haven't yet been exported or officially translated outside of Japan. That is the Gundam series I want to see in addition to a proper nongimped anime adaptation of F91 and Cross Bone Vanguard.

r/star_trek got banned for no reason. I'm desperate for places where I can talk positively about Classic Trek and openly mock JJ/Kurtzman Trek.

There might be some classic Star Trek boards on Reddit. The official one that just got banned might not be the case for a little while. Believe me, I too love shitting on Abrams and Kurtzman.

I mean, I can ignore that absolute trash that's going around bearing the name of Star Trek. It's when they tell me I must praise that dogshit and that there can be no dissent... at that point it absolutely does need to be discussed and disparaged.

Paramount no doubt slushes about a ton of cash at reddit and r/startrek in general. Can't have people pointing out how shitty everything they do is - you know, having honest discussion on treks. I wonder what the supposed violating post or action was?
I think it's obvious that it's a major name company that focuses more on the IPs rather than listening to audiences.
