Not going to add The Voyage Home?
The Disorderlies But It's The TOS Gang isn't very good Star Trek, even if it's a nice 80s Fish Out Of Water comedy with Trek jokes

but yeah, most of the reasons the TOS movies works is it's running off the camaraderie of Bones/Spock/Kirk, and variously killing and reviving them
let's not start getting crazy and pretending TOS Movies have a stellar batting average either

So STD season 5 came out and they're basing it off of the
Progenitirs - the race that apparently created all the humanoid species in the two parter "The Chase".

So dumb.
I haven’t watched the show in a while, but weren’t they something like 900 years in the future relative to the rest of Star Trek at this point? They’ve basically reset the universe and could have told any story they want and still the best they can come up with is reusing plot points from a 30 year old episode?

30 seconds into the episode (I skipped the previously on segment as I don't care) and has the be the most aggressively anti-Trek thing I've ever seen.
You mean you don't like Super Michael Burnham doing something on the outside of a ship at warp, then hard cut to faggots at a cocktail party?

Ok so this video was in the recommendations since I watched some of the discovery Episode. Youtube, why you gottta poz load my neg hole like this.
This is the current fans of STD everyone, faggots with HIV (and probably other STDs).

Yet again, it turns out that I picked the wrong username.

Let me guess...Michael Burnham ends up being the Alpha Progenitor by the end of the season, thus not only saving all life in the galaxy but being responsible for its creation as well.
Black girl magic, indeed.

So they're turning Michael Burnham into Yakub? Cool. I can see it.

The only Starfleet officer that acts anything close to professional is that White captain with the pointed ears that actually wants to complete the mission objectives and doesn't give a fuck about some back-world criminal settlement in a desert. Why is everyone quipping like it's a shitty Marvel movie and how the fuck is Tilly passing the Starfleet equivalent of MEPS? She's morbidly obese!

IV came out before TNG started. At that point like half of the Star Trek episodes involved going back in time or going down to planets that resembled some era of 20th century earth and having a little adventure where they pretend not to be space men. Fair point that it doesn't resemble what came after, and liking it or not is entirely subjective, but I'd argue The Voyage Home was exactly what Star Trek had been up to that point.

To STDs credit, it actually is a pretty deep call back to have one of the whales from Star Trek IV as a main cast member.

Dudes, Dudettes, and our non-binary friends y'all are welcome to come over to my studio apartment and watch the season premier of the fifth and last season of Star Trek: Discovery!

I just saw Nitpicking Nerd's review. There's a reason why no other Trek show went back to that episode. It was a bad idea to try to rationaly explain the Star Trek galaxy.

It actually fit Roddenberry's idea that people would be "over" religion by then, until DS9 came along and inserted it squarely in the centre of the show.

I just made it to the mid-point of Season 3 of Enterprise and I think that show got a bad rap, I've really been enjoying it and unlike the whiners of Voyager, I've really come to like a majority of the cast especially Scott Bakula, Dominic Keating, and Conner Trineer. It has its quirks and issues and that intro can suck my ass but it's good and I'd take that over any of the new Trek shows these days.

If you're looking for something better than what's on TV currently I recommend giving it a chance.
