The ultimate redemption for all of Voyagers bad writing is to undo the entire show in the final episode. I'd approve of it.
If the entire story of Voyager was undone in the last episode, then neither of the only two good characters who came from of it would exist anymore.

Admittedly, they haven't done jack shit with the Doctor, I doubt they ever will. And they did end up making 7 worse. (I won't go so far as to say that Picard *ruined* 7, but then again I haven't even watched the first 2 seasons, and have no desire to. She was ok in season 3 though.)

Here's a nitpic for Voyager I am noticing while I'm watching. I assume this is a hollywood producer being niggardly with the budget, but they very rarely have the non-cast voyager crew actually have a speaking role. To the point it's noticeable when they have to shuffle the bridge crew around. Here's some examples
Tuvok incapacitated and they a tactical situation, have Harry on Tactical, but the plot calls for sensor shenanigans, so Tom is at ops? Helm is a non-speaking extra.
Another episode, Tom is on the delta flyer and we need a helmsmen, so now its B'Elanna at the helm?

Maybe Janeway cutout everyone's tongue, except for the main crew.

They did let Tom Morello, the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine, have a couple of lines in that Lower Decks ripoff episode.

The king of Jordan couldn't speak during his cameo for that reason, although he looked like he was cooming from getting to be on Star Trek at all (remember when people loved Trek?) so it was probably for the best.

I just like how after 20+ years people still talk about the flaws of Voyager, but shit like STD and Picard already have been sucked into the memoryhole.

Voyager is flawed with a cast that consistently elevates the scripts they are given. ST: D doesn't even qualify as fan fiction and Picard is the most bizarre vanity project I've seen. It's not even the Patrick Stewart Acts Emmy Bait show really. It's like ST: D but with actual celebrities in it.

It's already been mentioned about the cast being quite good, but it also helps that TNG and DS9 had just finished or were about to wrap up. You had a lot of people working on all three shows so at least the feel of Star Trek could be preserved, despite the crap writing.

It's been more than a decade since a proper Star Trek show, so the people helming it now have forgotten what was needed or never had it to begin with. Just pure slop.

Yeah, but lens flares! Multiverses! 'Splosions! Space Lesbians! Stronk Black Wahman Space Lesbians!

The reddit demographic eats that shit up, and that's a loud demographic.

However it was too late in the game to bring in this character and, to be frank, they should have just never created the character to begin with and left Dax out the story from that point on.
she could have made for an interesting one off episode to take a break from the larger arc of the season. maybe somethhing akin to her first episode but a bit of the inverse, where there is very awkward tension between her and sisko as she is packing up. something something traumatic events change people. idk im not a writer. on the subject of not-jadzia is the last season worth watching? i quickly lost my interest a few episodes in.

The merch line would reflect that by existing.
Fair point, and to be honest, I don't even know much of the merch sold in the TOS or TNG/DS9/VOY days, to say nothing of modern star dreck merch. Except maybe some trek video games I played back in the day. I've never been a merch guy. For anything, really. I got real shit I'd rather spend money on. And I dislike nutrek enough to make me wary to search any out, even for factfinding.

But I stand by my statement, with conviction.

The reddit hyperconsoomer demographic exists, and any nuTrek merch that does exist, you can bet your sweet bippy that some redditfag has adorned, nay, plastered their goon cave with it.

I doubt I can be dissuaded from this opinion.

So why wasn't Concord an enormous success?
Because of their own hubris. This doesn't contradict anything I said. A few hundred troo believers wont sustain a game when a game like that depends on mass appeal to succeed. Or a franchise/IP. Nor will a few whales who spend their crypto and tugboat on internet pixel games or to furnish their gooncave. And I never said they would. Its a Budweiser Tranny decision, I never said it was a good decision, or that it would pay off. I just said they were the demographic being heavily pandered to.

You're overreading what I said. I never made the argument youre disagreeing with.

So we're not disagreeing really, or at least not much. Loud and proud does not equal money.

I guess I was disagreeing with something you didn't even say.
