That's why I found Bashir to be the wrong person to advocate for surrender and not just on the prima facie reason either. He personally had to treat the Blight, that genetic disease the Dominion gave those people when they lost. Surrender for the Alpha Quadrant probably would have meant the Founders would have committed their own genocide, so Section 31 was acting proportionally to the threat.
I get your point, but I don't see it that way. In that episode, Bashir is finally with "his people" (genetically enhanced) and is blinded by it. He was being too logical. Sisko was the human who said "logic be damned, we're fighting until the bitter end."

Which is interesting. You'd think the Augment supermen would go "FUCK EVERYTHING! JIHAD-TIME!"

It also has the best episodes in which the heroes have to do evil shit OR are accused of having done evil shit. "The Darkness and the Light" is underrated. You have that scarred Cardassian guy that starts killing Kira's former resistance buddies and then captures her. And Kira is absolutely unapologetic "it was war you dumb fuck and you were the enemy, so i killed your boss, his family, melted away half your face, and enjoyed every bit of it".

We will never get a Trek-series again in which the good guy/girl is just "fuck you, I'll do it again" and the evil guy/girl might have a point.
It's got the best ratio of gems to turds compared to every other Trek. It doesn't have the same season 1 growing pains that, say, TNG or Enterprise had. It's also really nuanced. Like, O'Brien's pretty racist towards Cardassians well into the series. Not like, a frothing at the mouth retard about it either. A very believable kind of attitude about it. It's really interesting how the Federation's ideals both do and don't survive when pushed a little too. Getting to see that the Federation's got a few cracks in it is nice, but it's not overboard with it.

The 2009 prequel comic is actually pretty ok setup for the movie as far as future TNG goes including Captain B-4. Too bad Bob Orci was too loony and burnt his bridges; wonder how things would have turned out if it was Kurtzman who disappeared.

Ok wow I didn't he know he died fairly recently. Sorry Bob, RIP. 🤔

I'm 5 episodes into The Orville and so far it's been very enjoyable. Some of the jokes don't quite land for me but that's just my taste, so far it hasn't actually impacted my enjoyment of the show.
Plus having both Norm and Cassidy Yates in this is a nice touch.
The hardest thing at the moment is the fact that I associate MacFarlane's voice entirely with Brain in Family Guy, so there are times it feels like an incredibly extended skit.

Something that should be explored is the relation to the Q and the powers that the Traveler described with Wesley Crusher.

It really feels like the Q have achieved mastery of using Imagination and the mind to influence matter, space and time and those HACKS who make Star Trek are dumb for not exploring it

You really want Kurtzman and his HACKS do shit with the Q? Why? Why do you want to make the rest of us suffer?

The show continually gets better at striking a balance into just being a sci fi show with some jokes and humour. Early on, they try to force more jokes into it which don't always land.

The Q being overpowered means you need a light touch with them. Q himself (John de Lancie) being an omnipotent shitposter made him interesting. As @Curzon Dax-sama notes, encouraging Kurtzman and his Merry Hacks to abuse Q is a bad idea.

Norm Macdonald being a scuzzball blob who has it bad for Penny Johnson is always funny. Also,

We were talking about Shatner not really running his X profile, but I hope this doesn't devolve into some sort of situation like Stan Lee was doing towards the end, basically forced to scam people. I know Shatner's still in decent shape, but this isn't a good sign. After the stuff Libs of Tiktok said earlier that even $10k/year gold accounts can't get any live support on X and all that earlier today, I don't think I'd be using these guys for any financials until it's proven safe, if ever.

Also the TNG movies, were rubbish. the stand out is first contact. The rest are... forgettable
Generations is flat out awful. It really wrecked a lot. It's amazing First Contact was able to recover from that at all. RLM and Confused Matthew's reviews on Generations are spot on. Insurrection is mediocre, harmless fluff really. Nemesis had a lot of damaging to the brand effects and is ridiculed, deservedly. None of the shows post TNG like it or not could carry any movies, so things ended up being TOS reboot which I guess was the only way to go forward.

It's nothing new. In addition to gay staking younger actors, the guy in charge of the account has been running crypto scams off of it for like a decade. It's an ongoing thing every couple of months.

In all the interviews from Shat I've seen over the past year he's appeared mentally sharp. He's lost a bunch of weight recently, but still looks amazingly robust for his age.

In reality, Shatner has never really been online, and hasn't given a single fuck about his Internet presence since the Tekwar books got turned into a TV show in the late 90's. As long as he keeps getting paid for personal appearances Camuso can do whatever he wants with the Twitter, Facebook, or personal web sites.
