Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

The space sections don't look better then X4 and the planet sections look grimdark with boring gunplay.

I will pick it up on offer for 5 bucks in three years and see if it's got any better.

Or pay $5 for a gamepass and do it then? I think that's why they aren't really trying here. Microsoft is all in on gamepass.

But if it doesn't result in meaningful change except giving freaks the option to play as dickgirls without having to download a mod, whatever? Ultimately it adds more customization (not the sort that *I'll* use, but that's true of most customization options in these games) and if it has no effect on gameplay or story then so the hell what? As far as pandering to tronks goes, this is about as trivial as you can get.
And some of you guys wonder why gaming culture is so screwed....

I'm a sucker for anything space exploration so even if it sucks the modding community will turn it into something playable.
You say that but paid mods and console mods have damaged modding to an extreme degree. A lot of the heavy lifters(script extenders, etc) are no longer involved in the community and have turned away directly because those things. Plus you need to add all the people who are now employed by game studios and are under contract not to be involved. The Racemenu guy works at EA now.

Yeah this is unfortunately true as well.

Fallout 76: Space Edition! Fork over $70 for a buggy mess made in an engine likely older than you are!

Even the trailer looked 'meh' at best, a less colorful No Man's Sky that will likely be just as barebones if not more at launch.

I'm excited! As someone who has played an unreasonable high 900+ hours in Fallout 4, I recognized the similar gameplay immediately. The atmospheric suit flight is just power armor jetpack. Base construction is an upgraded settlement/camping system. I am also a backer of Star Citizen from Kickstarter so I'm so happy to see Star Citizen finally get released.

As someone who has become very fatigued with lack of progress from Star Citizen, seeing /r/starcitizen coping and seething reactions are pure bliss.

"I'm not worried at all."

I suppose you could call mine the rare opinion, but I think the game looks pretty good. I saw what I expected, fallout in space. I won’t buy it though, I’ll play it through game pass. I’m a cheap ass.
I'm curious, what about it looked like Fallout to you?

The gameplay, the settlement building. It’s very much another fallout 4. Some of the enemies looked like smaller mirelurk queens.
I suppose we do have to look out for space mudcrabs too.
