The lockpick minigame wouldn't be bad, except that once you get to locks that are past the Advance level it effectively becomes like picking 4 or 5 locks for a single one. Often with no actual reward if it's a storage case (unless the XP is unbelievably higher with those, but I doubt it since I never noticed)
With Skyrim and the Fallouts no matter what you're still just picking a single lock. And even with Oblivion, the only thing difficulty added was up to 4 additional tumblers I believe.
I know I've said it before but either they're skill gated, or you give us a single fucking lock. Combining the element of Oblivion AND Fallout was such a colossal mistake. This is the first thing a mod needs to fix, but of course they're taking their sweet fucking time getting the creation kit out to us so you're better off just avoiding lockpicking altogether.
Edit: Todd has often talked about how their games often don't "come together" until the tail end of development, and it really feels like this game just never "came together". I enjoy parts of it a lot, but there are lots of parts that just boggle my mind.
How much of the main team had to fix Fallout 76? Maybe that's why there are so many damn streetshitters in the credits? This should have been their A game and it, as far as anything from Bethesda can feel like at least, feels like a game made by the B team.
