How do you think Starfield will turn out?

For how multicultural and diverse the game is clearly trying to be on the surface, the fact that almost every NPC I've encountered has the personality and attitude of upper middle class zoomer arts students just highlights how superficial the whole experience is.

This is the idealized world of our times. Look at the capitol of woke, Harvard, and see that they do everything they can to achieve a "diverse" community in terms of skin tones, facial features, and sexual deviancies while allowing as little diversity of thought as possible (see Harvard's ranking at the bottom of campuses for free-speech).

I'm going to be honest. The fact there are so many fat fucks in the United Colonies outposts/cities annoys me more than all of them being brown for some reason.

I found this, apparently a leaked list of mods scraped off nexus?
There might also be hints of content deliberately cut out of the game by Bethesda for the first DLC, but I am having a hard time confirming that.
Looking into the cut content, apparently it's being able to build your own Space Stations. There is limited resources to do so in the main game but they are incomplete, they will likely be the gimmick of the first DLC.
Now to wait until the inevitable Mech DLC like with Automatron, there is no way they aren't adding that in with how much of a fuss there is made about them in lore.

The game works much better with the "No blacks" mod.
Even with no darkies I gave up around 10th hour.
I know it's probably said countless times before in the thread but damn it's so booooooooring and i'm gonna rant in a few lines.

I land on a planet and spend 15 minutes walking around. All objectives are SO FAR APART and there is no means of transportation. You have a whole spaceship and you can't fly it 1500meters to the side and land next to the objective. No. You gotta go through 4 loading screens and then 5 to 15 minutes of literally nothing which is basically another loading screen. And the planets are absolutely lifeless. Boring. Soulless. Full of not a thing.
And the dev has the audacity to say shit like
>it's supposed to be realistic, when people landed on the moon there was nothing but they weren't bored
Well they had a fucking moon rover or whatever that mario cart looking thiung was, so why can't you put that into the game? They also basically chose their landing spot. Why not put that into the game?
Do you honestly believe this poor game makes players feel as if they landed on the moon?
I get shit out in the middle of fucking nowhere and am supposed to walk for what feels like eternity before reaching the next boring objective.

And the space travel? What the fuck?
>chart course
>unskippable animation
>loading screen
>arrive
>unskippable animation
>loading screen
>press button to get off of chair
>animation
>get off of ship
>animation
>get on another ship
>animation
>screen
>animation

At one point I had to go to youtube and check a playthrough just to make sure other people are playing the same thing because I thought there is no way so many animations and loading screens appear for everybody. Maybe it's my old ass rtx3070 being weak? Nope. It's the game.
Never have I ever been happier for not paying for a game. I pirated this trash and I indeed do feel robbed. Robbed of my excitement and of 10hours. And don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't spend money on faggy games, I bought Baldur's Gate 3 before I knew every single NPC in the game wants to have a piss orgy with you.
This company is done. This game is so trash it's unreal. Like someone on /g/ said: "Yeah bro the game is good if you just pretend it's fun"
The dev also said something like "yeah youre gonna have to upgrade your PC for this game" LMAO how delusional are you you faggot have you even seen what you're selling
And everything else is just as lifeless, soulless and pointless as the planets and space travel. The side quests, the main quest, the NPCs, the cities, the main characters. It's all the same.

If I could mod, I'd design a quest where you try to figure out why the corn starch keeps disappearing in New Atlantis.

That, or let you nuke the place a la Megaton in Fallout 3. Megaton didn't even deserve it.

You know it's bad when Mass Effect figured the planetary exploration shit out in 2007 when the dev team realized that people would probably like to traverse the planet in some sort of transportation or something and gave people the Mako. Granted, the Mako had terrible handling, but it's leagues better than Starfield's "walk everywhere with occasional jetpack use" design.

It's just a ploy by Microsoft. The game needs update 22H2, or else it flips out about how your GPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Why? Because it can't even properly detect it, unless on that Windows update.

Had no idea about that but what this clown meant was you'll have to update your hardware.
>you might need the 24gigs rtx4090 to pull off stable 120fps on this specific game but that's because the game's good not because it's shit teehee

Todd shouldn't have said it, and Starfield is far from being optimized well, but I don't think he's completely wrong either.

I've seen enough retards post their specs to know at this point there are a lot more people that don't actually know what their PCs are capable of anymore. Just the fact I see so many fuckers on reddit trying building PCs without SSDs in the modern age is hilarious.

He's completely wrong. "You need to upgrade your PC to play the game because we had neither time nor resources to optimize it well enough". How narcissistic is that? This, combined with the "people went on the moon and weren't bored, you won't be bored walking on the planets either" shows how absolutely, completely and utterly wrong this clown is.
He seriously believes it's so good he compared it to landing on the moon and deserves buying the latest top-of-the-line hardware for this one game alone.
One one hand, at some point everybody needs to upgrade their PC sooner or later but on the other the guy tells you you have to do it now for his game. This is how delusional he is. Tranny levels of delusion.

Retards will always be retards and some of them will always demand everything runs on their 15yo hardware, even if barely.

Literally not even dude. I saw multiple Youtubers with 4090s complaining that in certain locations it would drop from an ok 80 or so to 30 or even less.

Which is fucking crazy because Starfield doesn't look that much better than FO4 and FO4 came out in 2015.

In some aspects like creatures and NPCs it actually looks worse than FO4.

I think the real problem is that the game does not warrant a top spec computer in the slightest. This is basically a souped up Fallout 4, it should be able to run on computers from 15 years ago on lower settings. Problem is that it is unoptimized to hell and back(remember the sandwich?), modders are already fixing this issue but it is downright embarrassing for a triple A studio under Microsoft to be this lazy.

I knew it was garbage when I tried it on my laptop and it ran almost the same as on my PC. No big difference between laptop 3060 and desktop 3070ti yet there is pretty big difference performance-wise between the two GPUs. CPUs are in no way bottleneck in either setup.

Pretty much, yeah. It doesn't even look that good. Other games look better and require much less juice to run fine.

Yeah

If you're going to name a city "Atlantis", why the fuck wouldn't it be on a water planet?

Of course, I didn't realize "Jemison" was a black lady astronaught so maybe I'm missing the Atlantis connection outside the mythical city lost to the sea.
Atlantis was the black lady astronaut’s stripper name.
I didn't see anyone answer this question for real, but presumably it's a reference to the space shuttle Atlantis, if the system is themed after astronauts. Just guessing, haven't played this game myself.

Should have named it New Apollo.

I certainly see as many blacks there as I would at the Apollo theater.

I wasn’t going to buy this game from the beginning because fuck Bethesda, but the hypothetical modding scene always enticed me. I know you can do anything with mods, but mods that never really fit the world always irked me, specifically with Fallout and Elder Scrolls. You feel pretty limited to the setting, so there’s not a lot you can do unless you go completely balls to the wall. But with space as the setting you can really fucking do anything and still have it fit the setting. I wouldn’t be surprised if people make story quest mods revolving around Star Wars, Mass Effect or Halo or some shit. Too bad Bethesda fucking sucks and the game is shit so I won’t play it.
