How do you think Starfield will turn out?

The point's been made recently but I want to reiterate my enjoyment of it (especially to annoy the Ritalin fags who bellyache about the length of video essays they're not being forced at gunpoint to watch) -- people are discussing FO4 and, well, arguing about Youtube video essays, rather than discuss the boring piece of shit that is Starfield.

That makes me smile. They've produced such a droll dog turd that people would rather talk about products released more than a decade ago. Great job, Bethesda. You've done it again!
Better yet, the youtuber I was talking about(21Kiloton) usually talks about WHY the games are boring, broken dogshit and that's infinitely more interesting than playing the games themselves. Anyone can tell the game is shit, fewer can explain WHY that is without building strawmen or just using swear words and substituting that for an opinion.
And yes, these videos ARE better when you are listening to them in the background or eating a meal or what have you. Always funny when people cry about videos longer than 5 minutes, Vine/TikTok/Youtube Shorts are unironically made for people like this.

I agree. This game turned out so boring even redditors had hard time sucking Bathesda's cock writing the equivalent of those video essays in reddit posts about how coddled and ungrateful gamers are nowadays for expecting fun games.
Also, you are a nigger.

I'll have you know I have never willingly watched tiktok video and youtube short I detest so much I explicitly removed them with tampermonkey. However, video essay formats are gay. Less gay than the aforementioned ones but gay enough.

using swear words and substituting that for an opinion.
Swear words are a perfectly reasonable substitute for expressing opinion.

Idk the novelty of having preexisting opinions validated by a youtuber starts to wear thin when their voice is joining the massive chorus of youtubers who have already said the same thing. I type "Starfield Analysis" or "Starfield Sucks" into the search bar and its just a sea of 40+ minute videos all regurgitating the same opinions, the only meaningful difference being that each youtuber articulates those opinions in different ways.

Ironically enough, 21K says the exact same thing as you and complains about them, calling most Starfield reviews as awful and clickbaity(he singles out Synthetic Man and Worth a Buy ones as exceptions). But yes, that's enough about Youtubers, even if there is nothing else left to talk about as far as Starfield goes. I guess the best thing you can say is that it will (likely) not be as bad as MWIII, which is currently being critically panned even by IGN? Which currently has the same exact score as Gollum according to them? Not a high bar to clear, but it's something!

I have a hard time believing there will be mods that will "fix" starfield. there were fuck all mods for fallout 3 or 4. At least ones that aren't just sex mods. New Vegas is so mod friendly because people enjoy the game already. Skyrim came out over a decade ago, but in general i highly doubt Starfield can be modded back into a "good" game. the DLC certainly won't be worth it either. The only good part of when they release the GECK for this will be seeing every fucking thing they cut so we can get angry about it all over again.
Maxson united both West and East Brotherhood
IIRC he was supposed to be a "King Arthur" style hero for the brotherhood and Bethesda always planned for him to be sort of like their new Harold, every protagonist keeps running into him throughout stages of their life. Thats a big reason why you run into him in Fallout 3 as a kid.

There were definitely some great mods for Fallout 3 and 4 but they are much harder to find since Bethesda's fanbase much prefers coomer stuff and new guns or BLM flags being added instead of actual good content, and the most downloaded mods are just ones that fix the game to begin with(One of the most downloaded mods for Fallout 3 are Wanderer's Edtion that rebalances the game and adds a "Hardcore Mode", one that adds Ironsights and one that adds Weapon Modding. Note that all three of these are already integrated into New Vegas)
Bethesda has been losing talent for a while, not just with it's devs but also it's modding fanbase. Starfield is a new IP so nobody is going to give a shit about it in a way that they would with Fallout or TES. The game is already dead, doubt that what remains of the fanbase will care for anything but hardcore Sci-Fi shit from other franchises being modded in or generic Creation Club paid slop.
My prediction? Game is already more or less DOA but when Patrician TV releases his video, it will completely bury Starfield once and for all. Youtubers have a lot more reach these days than gaming press, just look at how much controversy Synthetic Man and Babyface videos were involved with. By that point, people who stopped caring about Starfield less than a month in will check back and see how the game is doing, see nothing of value has changed and forget about it entirely, leaving only coping redditors and seething Bethesda fans in the video's wake.

Since some people cry when Bethesda is bullied for an hour and a half with legit criticism on their gameplay, story, writing and world design, let's try something different and shoot some fish in the barrel: Literally, how about a video which goes in depth as to what is wrong with every weapon in the game? I don't think even Bethesda stans will defend their inability to make believable firearms for shit:
This dude made similar videos on Fallout 4 and New Vegas firearm inaccuracies as well

Even as background noise I don't get it. Who is still wanting to hear the same complaints about Starfield two months later even as background noise?

Starfield isn't interesting enough on the surface. That's why this thread has devolved into Elder Scrolls and Fallout talk. I'd much rather hear behind the scenes junk to really understand what the fuck the people that made it were thinking instead of just video essayist # whatever saying that The worlds are empty, the woke elements are distracting and annoying, the NPC's are ugly, the writing is uninspired, there are only like 10 dungeons reused over and over, the companions are nagging assholes and the animations are reused from Fallout 4 but stretched out for an hour +.

Starfield is so uninteresting I'm now debating how pointless video essays are because Starfield is so uninteresting.

Bethesda "firearms" always make my head hurt and Starfield is no exception. What they did to the "cowboy" weapons and shotguns especially is a crime.
Looks like another game where weapon mods are quite literally required before I even touch it, much like with Fallout 4

lol I think you misunderstand what the term "stan" means. They'll defend Bethesda to the death.

Isn't the only reason FO4's gunplay was halfway decent because they quietly asked some of the iD Software guys to help out with it?

Do people actually get upset, or are they just burnt out from hearing the exact same criticism of Bethesda that's been said since like fuckin Daggerfall? Ripping on Beth for the above, and saying mods are the only reason to play their games, is just beating a dead horse and simply uninteresting. It's also just autistic screeching into the void at this point. Simply stop playing their shit. It's that easy. There's better games and devs to give your time and money too, so why bother with these chuckle fucks?

I guess since Bethesda hasn't taken any of these criticisms to heart, we will have to drill all of these complaints for the next 30 years again. Just because the devs or fans admit to these faults doesn't mean that people have to tolerate their mediocrity or that the game should be given a free pass when the games aren't getting better, but instead get actively worse. So no, shitting on this game will continue and I hope the video essays just keep getting longer and longer, if nothing else they seem to be triggering all the right people.

@moocow
Absolutely, Bethesda can't design combat for shit. Not sure about Starfield, but aside from the jetpack(which was in Fallout 4 already) and low gravity, there is barely any improvements. Gun balance is all over the place and enemies are less varied than in Fallout 4, so some players argue that F4 is still better.
Nothing short of an overhaul will make the combat any fun anyways, so that's a moot point.

So it's just more screeching into the void like an autist towards a dev who doesn't care/doesn't listen? Might as well headbutt a brick wall in an attempt to break it down. Would net the same results. Like I said, just stop playing/buying their shit instead of making faggoty hours long video essays about how "after thousands of hours and buying all the dlc, and 10s of thousands of hours of modding, here's why the game is bad" videos. Cause nothing tells a dev they're shit like spending thousands of hours of your life on theiproduct.
Why so many people insist on subjecting themselves to mediocrity, or worse, in the vain belief that the devs will finally listen is beyond me. Voting with your time and money will always be more worthwhile than consooming and complaining after the fact.

Bad reviews and video essays don't mean shit. But if the next TES or Fallout tanked in sales, that would be a better signal than anything else.

Didn't this retard staunchly defend the game at launch? And after all this time he finally beat it with just 60 hours under his belt?

Finished the final tedious Ryujin Industries mission, where I kept getting spotted even with no one around so just gave up and went full John Wick. But the person you have to speak spawns out of bounds so you can complete a main questline, and looking around says this is a common issue. Great job Bethesda, maybe instead of creating 1000 planets you could have made 10 that actually worked.

So what do you become in this game? Are you the Space-Born by the end? Do you become the hero of "important quest hub" planet?
what about special powers? Does this one have biotics, or is just the standard poorly/if even explained time dilation for sweet head shots?

At the end of the main quest, you become a "Starborn".

Being Starborn is not like being Nerevarine. The galaxy at large does not acknowledge you for the most part.

Special Powers are essentially just dragon shouts and Elder Scrolls Skyrim spells but with a "space" name and Starfields visual effects. Unrelenting Force is "Gravity Wave", Detect life is "See Star Stuff", Whirlwind Sprint is "Gravity Dash", Fire Breath is "Solar Flare", Oak Flesh is "Moon Form". Slow Time is "Phased Time", etc. etc. etc.

These are very weak compared to their Skyrim counterparts for the most part as well, as you are expected to "upgrade them" by finding them again in New Game+. The only ones I found to be worth a damn is Anti-Gravity Field, which is the first one you are given, and Gravity Well which creates a singularity that everything in the area is pulled into and damaged by.

They aren't explained at all outside of just being "gifts" from the "creators". Characters even comment "This doesn't make scientific sense!" and stuff I'm pretty sure.
