How do you think Starfield will turn out?

There's one mod for Skyrim that adds more dismemberment, Maximum Carnage, and the system they use is jank and nowhere near as robust as Fallout 3/4's base gore systems.

You can see remnants of the Fallout 3 gore system in the Skyrim CK, but it's been 12 years and Skyrim doesn't have a gore system anywhere close to as good as Fallout 3's.

If they stripped the system out, then the odds of modders adding a decent one back in are pretty low.

Mods will never be able to fix what's wrong with Starfield.
Fallout 4 had gore, although(even if it was nowhere near as good as in New Vegas/3)

Indeed. "Mods will fix it!" really is the cry of people who have never tried modding (and also shows that Bethesda employees who pass the buck to the modding community are either duplicitous or so incompetent they don't realize the limitations of the very tools they expect modders to use). For games from Bethesda, and games from Paradox, and probably others I'm not familiar with, the fact that the engines are closed-source and all the public gets access to are the surface-level tools ensures that if a "big" feature is removed between games (or between game versions; Stellaris will never get proper warp / wormhole drive FTL starts back, and those shitty, DLC-only, "oh and you also start at a massive economic disadvantage teehee, get to researching Hyperlanes and ultimately change nothing, faggot" Civics don't count) then you're probably fucked, or at very best modders will be able to string together a slower, buggier, less robust version of said feature in the surface-level systems exposed to the hands of the grubby public.

The only games where mods can really "fix it" are games like the Java edition of Minecraft, where anyone with sufficient skill can radically change how the game operates on a fundamental level: for example, there are mods out there that give Minecraft true 3d chunks (infinite vertical world scaling), and see-through seamless Nether/End portals, just to name a few.

The entire correct dismemberment system returned for Fallout 4 and is probably on par with 3/NV.

If you put them side by side I think they're about the same.

Teenage me fondly remembers the first time he saw eyeballs evacuated from an exploding head in fallout 3 in slow motion. Better than liveleak
Oh yeah, its great when you shotgun a guy's head in VATS. Hell, FO4 doubled down by having feral ghouls get their limbs blown off while they're still alive. Legging them was great fun.

What really sums up this game is when you have to infiltrate the cruise ship and the sassy black lady space pirate wants you to steal an award off the ship, and she gives you a real detailed description, and then when you find it, it's just a fuckin' briefcase! Way to go, Todd!

And if they had some kind of space buggy it would actually help hide the fact you just spawn in 4km sq. fish bowls. Just say it's powered wirelessly, and you can't get too far or else it'll shut down. And why are there no cats or dogs in this game? How the hell am I gonna LARP as Ellen Ripley, space trucker, without my little Jonesy?

It's easy to clown on Todd, but to be fair, he hasn't been directly involved in any game they made, since Skyrim. I bet all he does is organize meetings, film marketing wankateer videos, and hide in his office playing Peggle and masturbate to R34 of Lydia while taking all the credit for other peoples hard work!

I thought Starfield was his lifetime goal, his precious little baby, something he always dreamed of ever since he started working on videojames?

After Starfield and the upcoming shitstorm, Amazon fallout show, will people stop kissing Todd Howard Ass? Why gamers suck Todd Howard dick is beyond me. He is not even worth the memes making fun of him.
I dumped 30 hours into this.
At least it wasn't vampyr.. That's the first game I played in the Unreal engine 4 eras. I kept getting killed because of a bad camera. It's bad enough they somehow fucked up Dark souls inspired combat.

I get the feeling he did want to make a space game, but he probably wanted to make an Indiana Jones game and TV shows/movies more.

He is a western "developer", after all.

I'm just confused. What do these retards think mod is an abbreviation for?
You can't modify things that don't fucking exist.

I vaguely recall the only thing to come out of that tranny sex pervert FO:NV mod "the Frontier" that was technologically very impressive was the fact that they managed to get working vehicles shoved into that old clapped-out engine. There were plenty of people (including Bethesda) who genuinely believed it wasn't even technically possible. But when they weren't busy writing deathclaw erotica they actually pulled it off.

Mods can do some impressive shit, but no, they really can't dig into the guts of Gamebryo to add engine features that aren't there.

Shouldn't the guy pretending to know his shit be the one to dox themselves?
I get you're assmad about being wrong about games or some shit but goddamn dude.

Also imagine thinking using shit like GECK is like magic. lmao.
I'm more inclined to view the script extender as the heavy hitter when it comes to Bethesda modding, myself.

But I can get how that wouldn't cross your mind being a PS4 peasant.
