And why are there no cats or dogs in this game? How the hell am I gonna LARP as Ellen Ripley, space trucker, without my little Jonesy?
They all became extinct, despite cats being seen alive in concept art. We had to evacuate Earth and the space on the shuttles was saved for all the abos, pedos and homosexuals we see in New Atlantis.

I'm more inclined to view the script extender as the heavy hitter when it comes to Bethesda modding, myself.

But I can get how that wouldn't cross your mind being a PS4 peasant.
Imagine getting this autistic about there being no modding for your precious gamerinos. Oh no I didn't mention another modding thing I'm totally wrong. Guy who has never modded before.

Have you tried actually making a mod or are you too much of a lazy retard to do simple variable edits?
There's a threshold where you stop modding in a shitty engine in the first place until you go "gee this isn't worth it" or "gee I can just make an entirely new engine without fucking around with an engine that shits itself if I stretch a model a bit too much, or this magic effect shits itself" or some shit.

And if the usual modding jank is ALREADY IN THE BASE GAME. It doesn't bode well already. And I'm not talking about bethesda jank I'm talking about memory leaks from loading just one map cell. Or requiring bandage fixes like multiple loading screens to load an instance of a door, the interior of the door, the airlock, and then half of a building.

You know, I am watching more and more of this game just to see if there are any worthwhile parts to it, and I got an ongoing playthru I like. Much of the content here isn't bad, there is some good ideas here or there and you could have some fun roleplaying with the tools and world they've build here. But then, you get the "Bethesda problem": The lackluster engine, the shitty writing, invincible NPCs, poorly written quests which want you to play one way or another without alternatives, ESG approved faggots and mutts, Emil's companion stand-ins getting passive aggressive that you "didn't do the right thing" all the time. They are the things that ruin the experience which would otherwise not be all that offensive.

Perfect example: Cora. She's the daughter of Sam Coe, a companion you meet when you visit Freestar Rangers in Akila. Sam is an alright character so far, Akila isn't a bad city even tho it makes no sense that they would still be living in stone shacks in a tiny town with wooden walls and no roads after 10 generations. Even the rangers aren't a bad faction, but you get the feeling they're pretend cowboys more than anything and nobody really respects them or takes them seriously, which really hurts the roleplaying aspect. Their main quest is fine so far, but Sam is a big character within Akila and Rangers, so what does his daughter have to do with it? Simple, his daughter is a big part of his personality and his internal conflict: He would do anything for her and is willing to abandon his lineage if it means not exposing her to the same lifestyle he had and giving her a chance to be something else.
She's BROWN when both of her parents are white. This takes you out of the whole affair entirely when you realize "oh, this is an ESG thing, they could not have a white couple in the game". They did the same thing to a story character, Vladimir Sall who is clearly a russian and even then he is a pitch BLACK african nigger. This breaks all sort of immersion out of the game when you remember it was released in 2023 and panders to a certain political crowd with these retarded non-sensical decisions. The only real explanation is that Cora is his wife's daughter and that just ruins his entire character.
For reference, here is a piece of concept art which shows a space cowboy and his daughter. Call me crazy, but could it be that they niggered her up solely because she was a redhead?

That's probably a reach, but consider this: Is there a white red headed child in the game at all? We know cats were cut out of the game because Bethesda was too lazy to simply port over the models and animations from Fallout 4, this simply could be the two characters in their original iteration.

I simply cannot tolerate something like this, there is simply no way to overlook something like this when playing the game just like with the Jet and kid in the fridge debacle in Fallout 4. Unless her and Vladimir are modded to be white(and non-whites removed almost entirely all-together, which I think a mod already did) the game simply isn't worth playing, there is a hundred issues like this all over the place. For as much hate as The Outer Worlds got, that game is entirely playable from start to finish without major fixes like this, the most I could ask for was the ability to fully mod every single outfit and gun instead of just specific ones and someone made a mod just for that. People complained how NPCs in that game looked, but they got nothing on Starfield, hell Outer Worlds has a believable enough setting for ugly characters like that since the whole society more or less already fell apart in that one(the whole central plot twist that is spelled out at the start), so seeing upper class citizens that look like Borderlands bandits or an ugly negress being the leading general for The Board didn't take me out of the experience(hell, I think she is one of the reasons why the entire system fell apart to begin with so it actually raised my immersion, showing the incompetence of Byzantium full stop with their pampered up diversity hires).

For all the faults that game had, I never once stopped to think "Huh, well that character doesn't look the way they should", it bothered me a little that no character had long hair until I realized they simply wouldn't have one in a corporate environment: It's against regulations and why would you even grow one out if you worked near heavy machinery? There is nothing like that in Starfield, they turned everyone non-white or into a faggot for political reasons and give zero explanation in-game or even bother pointing out why it's wrong. You're simply supposed to accept it as the new-normal, like the bugs the game feeds you in New Atlantis. Tell me another reason Cora is BROWN without her being an adopted or race mixed.

This nitpick isn't going away until modders fix it full stop or modding tools are released so people can do as they please. Every time I see these characters or I notice another similar instance it simply feels unwelcome, like a brown stain of shit being thrown at your computer screen when you're trying to play the game. It simply isn't worth it to continue the game and cannot be ignored until it's fixed, so you have to deal with me sperging about it too. I've seen some really fun things said about the Crimson Fleet storyline, so it will be fun to see just how much "Bethesda problems" I will notice(aside from not being able to kill characters, I know that much already and it's a universal problem)

Edit: For those who don't know what I am talking about, this is Cora and her two parents in-game

Nigga calm down, you suck at modding we get it.

That doesn't mean you can't add shit to a fucking game through modding. Like have you even seen some of the ridiculous shit people do with Skyrim?

It's crazy how angry this mediocre game makes some of you.

The modding scene changed a lot when everyone and their grandmother could get one of the ready-made engines and just puke his own artistic vision onto steam. Cutting out the middleman to the attention, so to speak. Also it's a lot easier to realize your vision with such engines than trying to bludgeon another engine into doing what you want you don't even have full access to usually.

Many don't really stick with their own modding for long. You see this with lots of modders who made somewhat successful mods for bigger titles. They suddenly start saying they're retiring from modding to focus on their project which they then give you an advertisment spiel to. Many think modding some very specific mechanic for one very specific game turns them into game developers. While there's certainly a pipeline from modder to developer doing your own littlegame is still a little bit different from modding a completed big one. Also in practice, nobody usually is ever interested in that modder's game, but that's neither here nor there.

I think many also realized that modding is eventually just a lot of work fixing somebody else's work for free they sometimes made millions with with little to no reward in return (if we ignore some of the notable examples) and in current day's hustle cutlure it's hard to justify putting into this amount of work with absolutely no payback besides autists complaining on your modding page that your mod sucks because they installed it wrongly. A few don't care and for them it's just a labor of love to add to the game and it's universe they loved so much but those people are few and far in-between and I don't think anyone "loves" a game like Starfield. Hard to because the developers of it obviously didn't either.

What you're left with then is the dregs, the trannies, the discord cliques who do it for the attention and don't bring anything worthwhile to the table and whose time also costs absolutely nothing. These even manage sometimes to push other modders out because of course they do, trannies are cancer to every project they touch. This is the category of modders Starfield will attract if I had to wager a guess.

tl;dr, modding is kinda dead and can't really fix a game that fundamentally sucks

I know they're probably saving it for the Gay Men awards but isn't it crazy we don't have any roadmap or announcements or anything like that? even No Man's Sky came out with a content update 3 months in. I have a strong feeling this will be like fallout 4 where they just do their contracted DLCs and forget about the game. even the mods aren't good enough to fix that shit.

The only thing that really makes me feel they'll give slightly more of a fuck about Starfield than FO4 is that the Steam ratings make it seem like a bad game. From how they're reacting to it i'm sure someone high up on the food chain is suggesting whatever to get that rating back up. I don't think i've seen a mixed rating on a AAA game before now. it usually has to be a really shitty indie game to get that rating thrown at it.

1. "we" lmfao.
2. I thought I didn't know how to mod?
Again don't get angy your shit takes about how "MOD SAEV GAEM" isn't going to fucking work.
Get a room already, jfc.

This game is Todd's baby and he has wanted to make it in some form for like 20 years now. He's just butthurt that people are rightfully calling it garbage.

Todd is gonna have to do a lot better than %30! They can go a lot lower than that, because they don't care about the game; it's just a vehicle for selling Creation Club BS. We know this because Todd said they want people to play this "forever", which worries me when a marketing wankateer says shit like that. If they really want people to play this forever, then just release the modding tools and stay the fuck out of the way! And quit breaking the script extender every time you wanna hock a shitty player home or overpriced skins! And why the fuck do we even need a third party script extender, why can't they just build that functionality in the base scripts? This is the Creation Engine 2, their bestest evar!

I think the whole "play forever" bullshit is Todd overhyping the new game + feature, just like he said there would be 200 endings in Fallout 3 and infinite quests in Skyrim/Fallout 4

there's no way in hell when he thought about it in 2004 that he imagined a game that plays as badly as this one does, with such a garbage plot and and samey characters and skills that barely fucking matter and guns that are next to useless and an obsession with crafting that goes nowhere.

I think Todd just wanted to make a space/sci fi game. I don't think he had a grand plan or anything.

Apparently Xbox is selling a Starfield themed HDD for Xbox Series, but since it's an HDD and not an SSD it can't even run the damn game lol

Todd has no talent. He cannot design RPGs. He literally has no understanding of what an RPG is anyways because every game he works on removes all player choice and agency and focuses on Serious Sam level shooting mechanics. He cannot create worlds or build them properly even when handed an entire established setting like Fallout. He takes a story focused turn based RPG series and turns it into an always online shooter.

The only good Bethesda Fallout game is the one that Bethesda didn't actually work on themselves. And New Vegas was completed in 17 months. Starfield took over a decade. With a $400million budget. For a game that is mediocre in every single aspect. Yet was supposed to be Microsoft's flagship product and biggest franchise of its new console.

Starfield is peak Bethesda. Awful story. Nonsensical world. Infinite radiant quests. Horrendous A.I. on every NPC. Reliance on mods and community fixes to save everything. Tremendous marketing campaign featuring all of the right buzzwords and social media phrases. Extreme political correctness to the point of absurdity. Zero technical innovation. Endless loading screens. Massive astroturfing campaign to get high review scores. Obscene lies over the scale of the game (you can seamlessly explore all planets, Fallout 3 has 200 endings).

That is an insult right there. Todd's games are basic-bitch and up until Fallout 4, when ID helped them out with combat mechanics, were extremely basic and awful to play. Serious Sam, meanwhile, is a thinking man's shooter that requires the knowledge of your weapons, your enemies and oftentimes knowing where to find certain secrets in order to survive the arenas later on in the game(not to mention that you need good reflexes, where as in Fallout you can just VATS everything and in TES games you can largely just chug potions and not die no matter what)
