How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Not a popular take but you could see a glimpse of this sterile blandness in Fallout 4 vs. F3 and NV. Every gametard I knew was disapointed by F4 at launch but today its some high watermark almost 8 years later.
Might not be popular, but I think its absolutely correct. Although I would argue its not some high watermark almost 8 years later. At a games core if its broken and boring, no amount of polish will change the core.

No Man's Sky is infinitely better today than at launch, but moment to moment, the core gameplay elements of NMS still feel like they did back then.

Same with Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim, or any game really. Its why Early Access in my opinion is such a bad idea for a lot of different titles. Sure you might have "Finished" the game five years later, but during the first year of your early access if I felt like I achieved some mechanical mastery over the game, revisiting it just feels like me redoing a system I'm probably already bored with for a lot longer.

It is why in my opinion, there is no real fixing Starfield. You can add more things to do in the game, but you cannot redo the core of how you do it.

Here's the thing, why the fuck would I watch 8 hours of "game bad" if I already consider it bad based on the numerous snippets of it I've been exposed to? I can do literally anything else and it'd be a better use of my time. You can't make me not want it more.
Not that it would even work in reverse. If a video pops up in my recommended and its title is something along the lines of "Game X is Ackshuyally Very Bad, And Here's Why", I'll happily click "Don't recommend channel", because I'm not interested in some random, nasally sounding, lisping faggot's opinion. I liked the game, end of story. Your 20 hour long drivel session isn't going to change that.
It makes for fine background noise if you're already someone who's shat on Starfield. It's not something that demands your 100% attention staring at the screen for 8 straight hours.

CP2077 was a solid base that just needed major bugfixing but they went and basically added an entire second game of work onto it anyway, they went out of their way to earn a redemption arc and make it arguably one of the best RPGs released in the past 10 years.
Meanwhile Starfield is basically Filmation for video games except now it's the late 80s instead of the early 70s and the open market is approaching to kick their shit in, everything is ancient assets and mods glued together to get a game done with all patching being months late with an UGH FINE response.
you are a fucking retard and whats wrong about videogames.

Sunk cost fallacy.
10h in: man this game sucks. But people say it gets better so...
200h in: man I wasted 200h on this. It has to be good. It HAS to be good! Imma buy the latest DLC to get 80h more of grindy content!

Also Bethesdacels are retarded.

Why not just listen to actual music?
I prefer to listen to Youtube or something like that instead of music when I work out, it helps take my mind off the pain of the exercise. Not sure I could get through an 8 hour video, though.

I'm less than an hour away from finishing his 12 hour retrospective on Oblivion. Aside from Patrician spending 20 minutes like three hours in reliving his edgy reddit atheist days, its pretty good. Will probably listen to Starfield or Skyrim next.

Maybe they finally found enough mods to make it somewhat tolerable (turned it into a porn game).

Not going to work anymore, Todd.....

I would say it is. The open worlds, while still cookie cutter, are at least actual open worlds with things to find. There is enemy variety and the gunplay is actually pretty fun, especially with powers. Also you get a car you can drive around, which Starfield doesn't have.
Yeah, I was playing Andromeda this year, admittedly years after its release where presumably all the bugs were ironed out (aside from 1 side quest) and I was wondering if I was playing the same game as what the moaners were talking about. It wasn't the Mass Effect Trilogy but it wasn't trying to be, it had its own beats and the gunplay was amazingly smooth with the powers provided.

Without having played it, my impression is that StarField appears to be stretched too thin, a hodgepodge trying to be too many things that won't work whereas a game like Andomeda is a small self-contained game with a set ending.

The one major new thing Bethesda tried out was procgen environments, but then they had the benefit of not having to waste manpower on hand-placing every cheese wheel and garlic cluster. If anything, they could have done a lot more due to not having to be autistic anymore.
