Stellar Blade / Project Eve Thread - aka Stellar Ass

What is so great about this game? Its just as soulless as the first descendant and likely uses the same assets. Except its offline only.

Why are they using melee weapons besides "it looks cool, duh"? Why would you ever want to stand toe-to-toe with half of these giant monsters in a setting where sci-fi guns exist? Even NIKKE, their gacha game, gets that right where you're picking them off at a distance with ranged weapons. Its no wonder they lost the colony when most of the defenders are soulsfags hellbent on a bonzai charge and most of the enemies are designed to be able to close the distance within an instant.

The consequences of Dark souls and its shitty "tiny arena + giant boss" formula have been a disaster for the human race and general game design.
Just don't play the game.
Problem solved.

The first few levels in, I felt the same way about this game. The precision needed in the block system and the difficultly was really annoying. I think they fixed some of this with the updated, but I avoided it so I wouldn't get the censored outfits on my first play through. This is one of the few games I played twice, but the second time it was on New Game+.

I will say, I'm glad I stuck with it. Once you level up some skills and get good at fighting, it's actually a pretty nice combat system. Except for the first few bosses, it's hard but not insane. The music is really good. The way the world building and story is laid out is pretty neat. You're confused as to why the Androids keep calling themselves humans and the slow reveals feel satisfying. The outfits are neat, the main character is hot and the game is WAY better than that Nier: Automata, which everyone compares it to. Sure Nier is less frustrating thanks to ranged combat, but it's also way more boring.

I wouldn't buy Stellar Blade again on a second system, but I'm glad I played it on the PS5. I did both endings (or I guess two of the three since I didn't skip Lily's subquests) and I will say the "bad" ending feels like it should have been the right one based on all the rising action to that point in the game. There is a lot of depth to the story too with the side missions and the world's history.

The commonality between the games that dropped the PSN requirement is that they're all games PC players don't give a shit about. I'd take a stab at guessing there's more interest on PC for Stellar Blade than Soyderman 2, TLoU 2, HZD Remastered, and Ragnarok combined. Hope you're right tho.
I'm in that boat. This is the only game that vaguely interested me in the PS5 and now it's apparent that everything goes to PC, I'm never buying a console again.

A Stellar Blade Sequel Is Coming, Shift Up Confirms
Stellar Blade is getting a sequel, developer Shift Up has confirmed. In the company's latest investor relations presentation, a chart showing how the studio plans to grow going forward confirms plans for a Stellar Blade sequel, seemingly set to release sometime before 2027.

The chart also confirms plans for Shift Up's next game, an action RPG currently codenamed Project Witches, and plans for Stellar Blade's "platform expansion," which, if Xbox owners want to keep pie-in-the-sky hopes, could mean an Xbox version. But it is likely just referring to the PC version that is due next month.

Xbox doesn't deserve dat azz.
The guys who made Helldivers seem to be splitting from Sony so maybe Shift Up will too. SB probably doesn't have enough gay shit or live service grifting in it for modern Sony.

Anyway. I look forward to the sequel and the accompanying spergouts it'll once again bring.

New trailer for the Nikke Content.

Looks promising. I'm indifferent about the new mini game styled after Nikke but looking forward to the new boss fights with Mann and Scarlet.
