Steven Universe fandom (Gemtlemen)

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Eh. I enjoy the show, and for a cartoon it has a lot of depth if you choose to look for it.

However, I don't associate with the fandom, and I find the Steven Universe tumblr brigade to be like any other tumblr brigade. Obsessive and insane.
Congratulations on both associating with people who are fucking retarded, but also feeling the need to claim that you're better then them.

Ha, fair point. But half of that statement would equally pertain to my posting here.

Because associating with you retards is somehow better than associating with other retards. I hope you aren't missing the irony that you're posting this in an effort to claim you're better than someone.

I am better than everyone thats the difference.

Not when it comes to grammar, apparently.

Seriously? Are we really fucking doing this? Stop trollshielding. Why would you wear you love for a kid's show on your sleeve? For fuck's sake, hide it if you have it. You're getting powerlevel ratings for a reason.

Trollshielding? Stop taking this so seriously. All I'm saying is that I enjoy the show. Stop being a fucking sperg.

You're the one spazzing out over a children's show. I'm just saying I enjoy it for what it is, a piece of harmless entertainment. Yet somehow, the fact that I'm not bitching and making threads complaining about people is more autistic than the fact that you guys are.

i'm sure we can dig up autism from all cartoons
We can. MLP and Steven Universe aren't the only cartoons mired in autism. There are other cartoons that gained some autistic fans that would no doubt jack it to adult fan art and fetish art.

technically everyone is better than the bronies.......but we'll make an exception. maybe equal to bronies
@Gensdupays said some bronies jumped ship and went to Steven Universe. They may as well be equal to bronies in that sense at least.

lol implying the entire thread isn't just an excuse for angry retards to shitpost.
Tell us about your Gemsona and/or your shrine to your Gem waifu. We're listening.

Oh yay, a Steven Universe thread. I missed the first one.
What creeps me out about this fandom is how they think they're better than bronies and that hating men and masculinity is seen as positive, especially when they claim to be protecting children from bad influences.
It's tumblr. The same idiots who scream blue murder if they so much as suspect someone of being even vaguely misogynistic, while at the same time posting cutesy graphics and giving their blogs cutesy names that proudly proclaim their misandry, because everyone knows that you can't be racist or sexist or transphobic or whatever the big bad -ism of the moment is unless you have both power and privilege, guys! If anybody tried to suggest that hating half the people on the face of the earth because of something they can't actually help unless they opt out by diving headfirst into genderspecial lunacy was somehow a bad thing, chances are they'd claim that telling children masculinity was something to be hated and feared was protecting them. What they think they're 'protecting' the rest of the world from I don't know, but perhaps it's just from growing up to like things like beer, sports and explosions rather than whining on the internet about the gender roles in children's cartoons.

They hate masculinity, yet don't seem to really like femininity that much either...

It's easy to tell a lot of tumblrites just jumped on the bandwagon so they can pat themselves on the backs for liking a "progressive" show. I recall a similar surge of Orange is the New Black fans on tumblr after people kept talking about how many strong black womyn were in it.
They did this exact same schtick with other cartoons a few years back. It's just a way of competing to see who is the most progressive.

My experience with Steven Universe was basically this:

*catches an episode randomly while looking for shit to watch when I actually had a TV available* "Dafuq is this? New cartoon?"

*30 minutes later* "... Meh. Was nice enough."

*gets on Internet* "... Wait that show has a fandom what the hell?"

Although I have to admit, I don't think I've ever seen so much rampant, rabid shipping of characters in a cartoon (that wasn't an animu and thus attracting that whole other can of worms) since Korra. I have no idea why in the fucking hell these guys seem to care so much about ships to such an excessive degree.
