You know how for every book as big as Twilight/Hunger Games, there's a thousand clones that rush to match the tone/style/theme and try to hit it rich? Same thing here. One person gets popular doing it, a rush of pretenders happens since all you need is a webcam, an internet connection, and the ability to watch a tv show and react to it. They all hope to get noticed by the right person at the right time who can make them popular.
