Steven Universe - Now a Griefing Thread

I really enjoy Steven Universe and I think it's a very solid show. It also just strikes all the right chords for me.

I think it's pretty cool and worth checking out. It's most definitely not for everyone, and it really is more of a "cartoon for teens" than it is for very young children. But I have a feeling the younger audience does enjoy it more than people seem to expect.

I never really found it too disturbing since the closest things the gems have to real bodies are, well, their actual gems. That's the core of their being and the form they take is nothing more than a convenience really. So it never really struck me as any kind of body horror.
Stevonnie, the fusion of a half-human and a full human. It's kind of sweet, since fusion is very clearly about emotional closeness, but since Steven's part human and Connie doesn't have a gem at all it is a bit creepier.

A lot of people say that, but as someone who's been watching it since a couple weeks on air, my only reaction was "Aw, shit, how are they gonna get out of this one?" and "Is he getting redesigned already?"

Kinda funny in retrospect, since Pearl actually did end up getting redesigned less than halfway through the first season.

That was WalrusGuy. He was a pretty big-name Pooper back in the old days, just made his comeback a couple years ago.
And my apologies, I thought the vid was relevant, at least for the sake of humor.

Besides the horrible fanbase and the new coke that is the term "Gemtlemen". I find that SU is pretty decent, the Animation is good, the soundtrack is great and it has a solid voice cast. the only thing that's keeping me from liking is the writing. it tries to pull at your heart strings a little too much. Every time an episode tries to bring the "Feels" it makes me want to barf. Maybe one day when the fans calm the fuck down i'll give show a proper change. But if Doctor Who and MLP are any indication then that may not never happen.

"Gemtlemen" was a joke someone made on YouTube to fuck with people on tumblr who were acting like bronies were going to "steal" the show from them.

Clearly it worked on them.

no kidding, i saw at least three posts tumblr that cried about how SU will be ruined. but there will be people who use the term seriously. I can already hear the fedora factory in full swing.

So I know the "Story for Steven" episode aired tonight(in which it showed how Greg and Rose meet), and I am very psyched to check it out.
