I remember I almost took the Lily Orchard bait. It's unbelievable how deluded he is attacking a show, and accusing it of homophobia and transphobia when it's the only mainstream kid's cartoon that is actively defending those people literally every episode

...But then I remembered this is what Sugar is promoting, and she is pandering to crazy SJWs. So maybe she does deserve it; to deal with him and the other crazy Tumblr people she is enabling.

I don't think the show is as political or overly pandery as people say it is. Other than the ep where Andy tried to evict the gems from the barn (80% sure this ep would be completely different or not happened at all if not for the 2016 election)

I think sugar just wants therefore writes and isn't necessarily trying to be woke for woke sake.

This is just what happens when tumblr get what it wants. And instead of appreciating the show they act like the show is the best thing to happen to television.

The autistic SU hate and 3hr vids pointing the shows flaws is a direvt result of the equally autistic blind loyalty to and defense of a show that isnt as good as they claim it is.

In a perfect world SU would be seen as a decent show that goes way over its head sometimes. Charming and cute, but nothing to seriously get into

But you have ppl on tumblr comparing this to Avatar or better than and bashing any criticism whatsoever, and this is what breeds lily orchard videos.

And if the She-ra fandom gets this preachy about the show or as defensive then it will meet the same fate.

So is White Diamond like Kyurem from Pokemon? "A being that was once whole but eventually separated itself into different beings" if so is that why she frowns upon fusion?

They've could have done a better job at explaining why they hated it so much. Like when Garnet was being taken over I was somewhat expecting her being a fusion to negate White's mind control or something like that. The Home World arc felt very rushed and a lot of wasted opportunities to develop both the characters and the world around them.

Stevonnie is more disturbing when you remember fusion is an allegory for sex.

...what the hell, Sugar? They're both underaged!
Isn’t it “relationships” and not “sex”? I know people always go to sex because the say Pearl “raped” Garnet, but like...I’ve always seen it as “relationships”, be it loving(Garnet), abusive(Malachite), or manipulative(the aforementioned Pearl thing).

The “fusion is sex” thing just sounds like something people say as a reason to hate on the show. Because I have a really really hard time believing you could air a cartoon where one of the main characters is “figuratively” fucking 100% of the time they’re onscreen

Yeah, I looked that up before I posted but I think Sugar had to phrase it that way unless she gets in trouble, especially with her previously established fanart not painting a good initial impression.

Don't get me wrong, I used to like the show in the first season before realising the plot barely advances. This particular thing just skeeved me out because while Steven is half Gem, Connie isn't. So there isn't the buffer of 'Gems aren't humans and have their own biology/rules" that you can give them a mulligan over. Plus, Stevonnie ends up looking like a young adult rather than someone around their age and ending up getting that creepy guy's attention and he reacted in a horrified manner akin to anyone who discovered the girl they're hitting on is underage (...and well, being made of two kids).

What I found rather unnerving is that she claims the target audience is "six to 11 year old boys".

If I hadn't said it somewhere else, I just find this show mediocre (at worst), awesomely bad (at best), looking at it now, compared to my many autistic posts on it here way back when...

Still, if the recent finale (S5) had been how this show decided to end for real, that would have been great, honestly. I can't see this show surpassing what was done here at the tail-end of S5 in any real way and not just being crappy filler that drags itself down, overall.

Doesn't help that I still find Adventure Time and Regular Show (and sometimes Gumball), for major achievements on this specific channel as of late, to be better cartoons either, unfortunately... Excuse me for sperging; I just enjoy what I enjoy, simple as that.

And getting that out of my system feels better than sitting through any vids complaining about all these fucking gay space rocks for hours on end like they're being smart or some SHITE like that. No wonder the so-called fanbase/hatedom is so much fucking fun to make fun of when you can manage it.

Just thought about it and this is based on my vague memories, but didn't the Crystal Gems say in the very first episodes that Rose Quartz only sacrificed her physical form? Wouldn't that mean there's still some other sort of form of Rose Quartz somewhere inside Steven? Was it an oversight or the only thing Rose left were her gem and her powers?

Either way, the mechanisms of Rose transferring her gem to Steven is confusing as hell and me quitting the show mid-way isn't helping.

Did they really beat the space empire terrorizing the universe by having its mistress blush and then friending them all? Goddamn it, that's garbage. What did they mean by this?

It means they never had an idea of what they were doing to begin with - that's what! Don't think about it any harder than that, if you want my advice.
