Meh... Good riddance to this sad & pathetic excuse of a show.

Hohestly, I always preferred Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gumball more anyway - and CN's done better than all of those in some case or another, anyway (in terms of past decades.).....

Just... Good fucking riddance, without question. And please, no more SJW-pandering BS after this. We need less cartoons (no, things of any & all mediums in general) for all ages doing that, not more.

We dont need to be catering to anyone like this, nor should we ever have been in the first place.

In my opinion, Steven Universe is one of those shows that embodies most of what's wrong with pop culture in the 2010's. I'm glad it's finally going away.

I think this is another sign we're headed towards a major cultural shift away from the SJW woke zeitgeist that dominated the 2010's.

For what it’s worth, shows like Infinity Train and maybe Amphibia, managed to gather large fanbases without needing LGBT characters (despite what the fans will tell you). Plus their character designs move away from the usual bean heads and tube arms that SU popularized.
If this keeps up, we might see a recovery from the 2010s era of animation.
Easily the best-written peice of western animation in history. Hopefully it really does continue in a different form, there’s so little decent television as it is.
I’m curious on what SU’s legacy will be and if it will have any greater influence; as it is, it’s popularity kind of fell off after 2017. Will it still be seen as a decent show or will it be looked back at the same way we look back at Captain Planet?

It’ll maintain the same near-universal critical acclaim it’s had during its run, but will still be vastly under-appreciated by the general public.

I mean most of the critical reception was in large part due to the series being gay as hell. On the other hand, the fandom has been known to heap praise on the show regardless so maybe it will still be praised as the years go on.

We cannot live in a world where Avatar the Last Airbender exists for this statement to make any sense.

Steven Universe is the benchmark of wasted potential and useless filler, always presenting a conflict and then immediately throwing it in the trash with a hug or going about it in the most unlikable way imaginable.

Season one had none of the SJW-panic-inducing elements that came up in later seasons and it was still critically acclaimed.

I find that show to be slightly overrated tbh. It certainly looks better than Steven Universe, but it’s nowhere near as well-written.

Oh gee, given the people on Kiwi Farms hate gays, lesbians and trans people in general, why do you even bother talking about SU. You guys freaked out and said some very nasty things about Shep from SU Future

Early adventure time + Marceline and Ice king? Sure that was better, but the last seasons of Adventure time declined to a pretentious mess of them trying too hard to be philosophical, and a bunch of disappointing payoffs.

And in fact, that's why I was more into SU than Adventure time. But I am not enjoying this SU last season either tbh, and I don't think I will be sad of seeing it gone.

Season 1 had virtually no plot, save for the modicum of conflict at the end that was resolved by the power of lesbians. It was mostly boring beach town adventures/Steven trying to figure out his powers. I fail to see how this equates to some of the best writing in Western animation history.

To each his own about ATLA but compared to SU, THAT show had:
-A three-act structure via three seasons, each season having a grounded clear direction or goal to reach.
-Characters that grow up and mature over time, learning the weight of their power and responsibility (Aang) instead of stagnating and getting worse over time (Steven).
-Compelling anti-heroes that go on a lengthy journey to redeem themselves (Zuko) and don't turn over a new leaf because it's for laughs (Peridot) or because they received a single feelgood pep talk about love (literally everyone else).
-Consistent villains that took center stage over the entire course of the show and were a credible threat (Firelord Ozai).
-Side-villains that were complex and complicated and tragically could not be redeemed (Azula).
-Better animation and action sequences.
-Clearer themes and world building.
-Stakes.
-Some occasionally genuinely fucked up, complicated talking points for kids to digest beyond tumblr mommy issues and LGBT nonsense. Or, you know, characters just being whiny assholes.

I don't mean to shill ATLA so much just because I personally love that show--I will gladly admit that Korra was a steaming pile of monkey shit--but come on. The best SU has to offer is Greg. And even then, he's a far cry away from Uncle Iroh.

That’s just straight-up inaccurate. And the stuff you listed as being good in Avatar, Steven Universe did better.

I rather enjoyed it.

Good taste and actual truth, right there. Not even BEST CHARACTER Greg can save this show (SU), let alone match up to the likes of a true classic like A:TLA. That's just honest to God FACT.

And yes, I still stand by that much - GREG. IS. BEST. CHARACTER.
