But you're TOTALLY TRANSPHOBIC GUIZ if you say so outside of KF.
Which is ironic because people literally only care about Shep because they’re non binary; not liking Shep is “rebuking” good representation and shippers are basically forced to add “Shep is good tho” less they run the wrath of the social justice fanbase. If Shep was a dude and Sadie was straight, the fandom would have no problem ripping them to shreds.
Case in point. Edited to add casual threats over not liking or misgendering a cartoon character. These are the people the crew want to pander to now; it really is hamfisted and insincere.

Remember when Steven and Lars went to Homeworld for the first time? We never saw how Gems functioned and thrived when on their key planet. We only saw the vagabonds that crawled around the underground.

I was building hype for seeing how that world functioned so badly and then we fuck off once Steven turns Lars into a space gem zombie and teleport through his hair and it's just "lol, that's it. Oh you wanted info about gem homeworld we have been hyping since season 1? Nope here have 5 episodes of townsfolk and sometimes Lars in space with his Gems with Downs."

Oh and remember the big deal with the cluster? What was it 10 episodes fucking about? and then it's solved in half an episode. What was even the point?

That has been the whole show in a nutshell. They hype these huge problems, and even have pearl say how problems are complex, outside of anyone's control and not due to a single villain:

... and then ridiculously complex problems get solved very easily to the point of being anticlimactic. Like how a dogmatic and intolerant, genocidal, millennia-old intergalactic empire got fixed by talking about feelings. Now Steven basically can even order the diamonds around.

Who knew the crystal gem rebellion was for nothing, and they only needed to convince the diamonds that pink was sad to solve everything?

I'm still amazed how they still didn't explained why they can fuse only in very deadly situations. There is no reason why they can't fuse into Alexandrite every time and pulverize any threat ( i think Alexandrite could easily wreck that green hand ship).

My understanding is that while the fusion is of one body and mind, it still has multiple conscious beings inhabiting it, all of whom are well aware of what is going on and able to effect the fusion's actions. This is why Fluorite speaks so slowly: all six of her "parts" have to come to a conscientious before taking action.

It's basically "Being John Malkovich" on steroids.

(EDIT: forgot words)

The Shep thing was kinda awkward, but I do like what Future is doing with Steven. He’s an awkward teen who kinda spent his entire life doing Gem stuff, fighting monster, eventually dealing with all of Gemkind and saving the race...but now, there’s none of that. He’s essentially facing a life and world in which he has no idea how to handle or what to do. He’s lacking purpose in his life. He essentially accomplished all his life goals before he could drink, and he’s kinda having an emotional breakdown over the fact.
im going to guess that weird Pink-White Diamond thing is also going to be Steven accidentally corrupting her due to hisemotional state becoming more and more unstable. Maybe that theory of that work Gem thing being a corrupted Steven has some merit after all.

I did appreciate that, in the newest episode with Cactus Steven, none of the Gems did the stereotypical “I’m now mad at you for venting your personal feelings in private” thing that most shows do and just understood it for what it was.

Steven needs to find a new life direct and a way to start venting all that emotional backup. The show has been a bit awkward, but I’m enjoying it overall for what it’s going for. Only the Shep thing felt really awkward to me, but maybe that’s because they couldn’t come up with a better word for them other than “partner”. Like it always felt like there was a pregnant pause whenever the said the word or something.

Oh, and a lot of that stuff in that “CN interview” video was shown to be either made up or exaggerated. I remember it being a big dea like a year or so ago at first before a lot of stuff came out that heavily questioned its validity.

I have not seen anywhere near all of SU, but I recently gave it a try and I had become relatively interested in it.. Since then, I have seen enough of the "future" episodes to see this "Shep" character.... Obviously, they were telling *me* that I am not the target audience of this show, and that I should have known that to begin with... My bad, I won't be curious about (obviously) Social Justard kids shit again any time soon...

It’s actually a very interesting as a concept; what does a hero do know when the world is saved and that’s all he knows? It’s a perfect set up for an entire multiple season series, much less a limited series and some lines (Why do I need to be needed?) really do sell it.

That being said, there are several things that keep from enjoying it to the same extent as others. One is Steven himself and how they amped up his angst. I got they’re trying to make it truer to the teenage experience but it’s such a sudden change from how he was in the movie and often regresses character wise, making him harder to root for. Characters tend to leave abruptly, act OOC or stay out of the picture to conveniently give Steven more angst and to fuel more conflict while the plot takes forever to get to it’s point, even having filler episodes, despite this being a limited series. And the biggest issue for me, forgetting the lessons everyone learned from the first five seasons just so they can rehash the same lessons; case in point, Prickly Pair ends with Steven deciding to bottle up his emotions. He learned not to do that three times already.

On the elephant in the room, calling your significant other partner is just not something that happens in real life. The awkward delivery between Sadie and Lars makes it feel like it’s the first time they’ve ever had to talk that way ever. Combined with how much attention it was given during the beginning, it highlights how forced it was compared to the show’s usual brand of representation.

And finally, I fully agree with you on the video. A little digging shows the guy being interviewed is a huge lolcow himself (seriously, check his twitter out, it’s complete madness) while the one giving the interview is a bit of shit stirrer, doing it more for shits and giggles. I don’t deny there are grains of truth in there but the exaggeration really hurt it’s overall credibility.

I took the end of the episode to mean it’s going to be a continuous issues through the series, but you are right that he’s learned the lesson already. But I’m willing to give some slack in that he’s going through a lot right now and that can make you do dumb stuff.

Maybe the whole “Pink” thing is meant to represent teenage hormones or something? I dunno. The show’s flawed, but I’m still enjoying it.

I think the whole pink thing might the setting up the Corrupted Steven theory everyone is on board with. Basically, all the pressures getting to him cause him to corrupt himself, similar to how the Diamond’s attack mentally, emotionally and physically altered the gems.
I just hope it’s not another situation like White Diamond...

Other than repeating that SU is terrible/bad/whatever throughout the thread, I want to say that I miss fight-happy Jasper but the same time I don't because she's not ruined by the writing and got out before it could. But then again, I haven't seen if she pops up in Future but ignorance is bliss.

She's yet to show up anymore past that episode.

Yeah it’s weird. The episode made it seem like she’d be set up for a reoccurring role but so far nothing. Same with Volleyball. My guess is that they’re being saved for the big finale further down the line.
