Steven Universe - Now a Griefing Thread

A lot of the Tumblr fans also think a lot of the cast is autistic, so it's just a normal day at the ballpit. My friend and I were having a good time reading all the "Onion has atismu" posts when the episode aired, though.
True, they just seem really up-in-arms over Onion in particular though. "Omg stop calling him creepy and saying he's the spawn of Satan! That's really offensive to us autistic people!!!1"

These are the same people who thought onion was yellow diamond. What was so special about "Onion Friend" that caused everybody to jump on The Onion is Autistic bandwagon anyway?
I think it might have been because Onion was genuinely(?) trying to interact with Steven in his own bizarre way, and Steven kept getting creeped out by him. Someone also said that the way he talks is evidence of him being autistic, since some autistic people are non-verbal. But by that logic, Yellowtail would be autistic too, amirite?

Every parent on The Peanuts would be autistic

I am hopelessly in love with Pearl, Greg and Lapis but it's not just because they're great characters it's because I can relate to every single one in some way or another (ESPECIALLY pearl baby come here let me hug you) and I haven't gotten this attached to characters because of "relating" in a long fucking time ; ;

Favorite characters are Steven, Pearl, Connie and Lapis Lazuli. Part of me is making a guess that Lapis will become the next crystal gem.

In regards to the gems, it's still Garnet and Rose Quartz for me. I also kinda like Jasper even though I feel like I shouldn't.

I don't really care about any of the secondary characters, nor Connie. The only exception is Sour Cream.

Agreed, especially that part about Connie. I know a lot of people like her, but, and I don't know what it is, but whenever she's around I just want her to go away and pretty much every Connie-centric episode is a disappointment to me. She's just so dull and boring among a cast of mostly unique and interesting characters.

Matt Confirmed, the reason Ruby said “Don’t look at me!” was her attempting to keep the birthday plan together and was so upset when yelling “Great! this is just perfect” because she was upset that the surprise was ruined because it was her idea.

I mostly watch the episodes that actually serve to advance the story, and try to avoid the filler episodes. I really really want to like this show, but the fanbase is just so goddamned stupid that it's hard. Which is a shame, because it's a really good show and when they're not putting out dumb filler, the staff has shown that they're capable of producing gold.

Watched a few episodes. It was one of those cartoons which made me feel I was way too old to be watching cartoons (lo and behold, the creator worked on Adventure Time.)

Pluses: I liked Pearl and Garnet

Negatives: Amethyst was annoying as hell (yo dawg, that was the biznit!), I didn't like the music at all, STEVEN HAS TWO NOSTRILS WHEN HIS FACE IS TURNED TO THE SIDE AND I CANT GET OVER THAT.

I love this show, and everything about it is just perfect. I think I'll stay away from the fandom, because fandoms have the potential to hinder my enjoyment of something, which I've experienced before.

I honestly can't pick a favorite character because they're all so great, but I can relate to Amethyst the most.
