If we're judging in terms of the show he's in, he's probably the top. Otherwise (if you want to compare vastly different types of shows) then Steven's trauma is like a mild heat compared to other media's raging hotness.

To be fair, having to sort out a 5000 year plus cold war is pretty heavy for a fourteen year old. To say nothing of the physical trauma like having what was essentially a vital organ ripped out of him by his aunt.

If in general than my orginal comment still stands. I know plany of characters who suffered more than Steven. At least by the series end Steven still had a parent alive. That's better than some of the ones I listed.

He has plenty of loved ones, for sure. The problem was that in the process of helping them that the lad forgot to take care of his own wellbeing and by the time his dad and the others realized he was hurting he'd gone and turned into a giant pink dinosaur. But to avoid a cyclical conversation then yes there are plenty of fictional characters who have suffered more than Steven.

I'm not saying the character hasn't suffered. He has. But when someone goes and says "has no other character suffered as much as this guy" that's when I disagree.
