It's just like goobergate, guys! They will kill all online games an shiet!
Chet Failsuck, a literally who, whose only claim to fame is working at Valve for some time but having done nothing of significance since leaving the company 8 years ago. Yeah sounds about right.

Chet posted some dumb followup tweets.

And there is a reason it is being run the way it is... and when you embrace asmongold and would work with Kiwifarms (if there was no blowback), my description remains.And... well... I won't speak of it, you can read this. danieltan.weblog.lol/2025/07/stop...
Link, Archive (whole thread)

Reminder that this guy ran Portal of Evil, which in turn inspired SA, and I'm told was a proto-lolcow site.

And if you ever wondered for a good example of the phrase - never pet a burning dog?Its this one. I can be right. I can do the right thing but the dog is on fire so it is yapping and biting, i should have just left it alone.

The shitlib is unable to speak without condescension.

BeamNG is part of Video Games Europe, yet apparently BeamNG team were not informed in advance about the SKG statement that the lobbyists decided on and posted in the name of the entire group.

BeamNG peeps are real G's. Game is still in "alpha", yet with every update they add more and more content at the same price, and for Krauts they're really chill about piracy. Apparently there are authenticity checks where if failed, you'd get a very nice message from the team with a badass background.

Personally, never encountered it, copying the Steam files is all it takes to pirate it. Then again, I paid for it on Steam cuz they deserve it and fuck downloading >50GB from piracy sites every time a new update rolls out.

BeamNG team also does simulation work for the automotive industry, so they're a talented bunch, and a wacky, highly realistic driving sim is only one of their frontiers. No wonder a corporate lobbying group left them in the dark on this, hopefully they step up and cause a ruckus.

Imho, Ross is overly cautious.
The petition process is pretty straightforward.
I doubt there will be more than 50k invalid signatures.

The other successful initiatives were far less grass root, which could explain their questionable ratio.

It got about 400k signatures in the first month or two. Then it practically flatlined till the start of this month. It spiking 1 million signatures in 2 weeks is pretty insane. It got some coverage in the first month too and that didnt generate a million votes. So why does it generate a million votes this time (and even back then you had pirategamer shit on it).

Because everyone is shitting on Thor now.

It lacked the sloptuber effect.
And you don't think any of those people are terminally online enough to think it would be cool to submit fraudulent signatures? You just need one cowtipper to make the count unreliable.
And let's be fair, it is Ross his job to whip up as much support as possible. And part of that is convincing people to sign even if we're well past the goal.

I think Ross is just being overtly cautious since this is his last shot and paranoia is setting in.
Some of these initiatives relied on people singing this stuff IRL and messing up that way. The site was smart enough to tell me I already signed and also smart enough to figure out what is a valid ID, name and address.
Do you expect that ~350,000 people were either faked or can't sign their own name with the ID in their hands?
That 1 out of 4 people is that much of a fuck up. I can understand 1 in 10, even 1 in 5. Also we are likely to get to 1.4-1.5 mil by the end. If 1 in 3 people can't sign their name then we have bigger fucking problems.
