Are everybody's DMs purged after x number of days? What is that number and is there any way to retain them longer?
They get purged after 30 days of inactivity. There's no way to retain them longer, just bump it if you really need it.

It would be nice if double posts were just automerged. Perhaps it's too much trouble and that's why it hasn't been done already though.

I know for a fact that automerging of double posts would be possible if we were using IP.Board instead of XenForo.

On-topic: I miss the little mouse hover on highlights that says if the highlight was pinned by Null, a janny, or a mod-approved T&H highlight.

I know there was an incident years ago where an unhinged lolcow was posting actionable violent threats on KF and the mods merged them and pissed Null off as it lost the metadata for the original posts that would help police. Maybe he'll do auto-merge in sneedforo but keep the underlying records so they can still be recovered if staff need them.

I know that it won't be read by @Null but it would be cool if we could have KaTeX support integrated for math equations. There is an unmaintained XenForo extension that implements it that may or may not work.
Or just write equations into ms paint gangster style:

I miss brain icon for Deep Thoughts and when highlights thing was more prominent than that tiny ribbon. That's just superficial stuff.

huh? highlights still have a banner and the border.
It used to be the text "Highlight" on a green block, but how it is now is OK anyway. I like how I can tell how a post was highlighted.

I think having an option to ignore someone for a set period of time might help with a lot of the more egregious slapfights that go on. Sure, you can ignore someone and undo that latter, but I imagine that people feel adding someone to ignore feels far too permanent (even if it can be reversed). Giving people the ability to say "I don't wanna deal with this person for a while" might help people step back more often.
